Hold ur hatchet if ur in the open, learn their dodging pattern
Keep practicing (she takes a long time to learn)
Watching Huntress mains on Twitch, you learn a lot

Be aware of the fact that survivors will always know you are coming, as your character audibly hums, so they have that warning and THEN the heartbeat warning. Therefore you need to expect most survivors will be hiding from you when nearby, the perk Whispers helps a lot for telling you if someone is nearby, and saves a lot of wasted time searching areas without survivors.
Use your hatchets at very close range as you can still effectively hit people at melee distance, but you have less of a cooldown than using a Melee, so you can quickly down survivors with a Hatchet + Melee, or Hatchet + Hatchet.

Also use add-ons, the increase of carrying capacity is good when starting out, as you get more chances to get hits in a chase, and spend less time going to reload at lockers, and more time practicing.

Huntress main over here, holaaa,
Huntress is great at getting fast downs through her fast recovery of hatchets. When you hit a hatchet, you don't lose any speed. Meaning less distance for the survivor.
Tips:
1. Always try to get a hatchet hit if they're healthy. Even if you are right next to them, still aim and go for a hatchet hit. Only hit them with your basic if you run out of hatchets or have been looping you for a while.
Reason - To close distance, hitting them with basic is alot easier, but with your slow movement speed you'll be catching up for a long time. You need that sweet distance!
2. Always basic hit them if they're injured. Even though hatchets are easy downs and amazing distance, it slows you and can waste time trying to actually hit them. Don't be ballsy, be safe :P!
Reason: They're already injured, there's no need to close distance, they're gonna be dead in one more hit. It's easier, faster and saves hatchets to just hit them with your basic.
3. Never leave yourself without any hatchets! That's her power silly?! Without then she's a slow basic killer. Even if it means leaving a chase to get some, DO IT!
Reason - It'll save you so much time and allows you to be a dangerous and proper playing huntress, it sounds stupid to drop a chase but it matters!!
Quick tips:
- To get hatchet hits:
= wind up your hatchet and aim it infront of you. This will scare the survivor into juking and eventually INTO YOUR HATCHET AIM, for you to then release and throw :).
- Break pallets that are really good!
= You're slow, there's no time for big loops!
- Wind up your hatchet before a pallet!
= This will ensure that if the surviour drops or goes into the pallet area, you will get an easy hit. Sometimes even a free pallet too! :)
- Practise crossmap hits
= practise makes perfect and getting cross map hits are great to show off and even get fast hits!
Perks:
Bbq - Cross maps
Thrilling Tremors - Cross maps on gens
Whispers - track survivors
Nurses calling - Find unexpected survivors with your small terror radius and hatchet them from a distance :)
Brutal strength - GET RID OF THOSE GOOD PALLETS!
Iron maiden - Fast reload of hatchets
Monitor + abuse - teeny tiny terror radius
Ruin - Gen regressionnnn
Undying - Keep that ruin baby
Pop - if you hook ppl easy, might aswell get some regression out of it :P
I'm all ears - Auras of survivors, means precise hatchet hits.
Add ons:
Wind up speed / hatchet Cooldown speed / hatchet hits allow aura of surviour to be seen.
Reason: Faster hatchets / Faster recovery / Precise hatchet hits
P.S alot of practise is needed, you will win games and feel proud, you will lose games and feel like never playing her again.
But she is rewarding when hatchets hit and very powerful when you learn how to understand survivors jukes, when to and when not to hatchet and how to play her effectively :)
I wish you all the best and I hope to play against you someday when I'm a survivor <3
I hope this helped a little c:
