Exclusives

Note: Please correct me if I'm wrong about this. This could either be my poor memory speaking or some weird Mandela effect.

I'm not sure how long ago this was, but I swear I heard information about this. I remember when the Devs said that exclusives (cosmetics) weren't really going to be a thing anymore. I don't exactly know the full story of it anymore, but from what I gathered from it, whatever cosmetics there would be in the future, everyone could get it without needing to worry about it being the most rarest thing in the game. I believe this was also the same with events too, where you could get the event cosmetics after the event as well.

If this was true, what happened? I know a large amount of cosmetics are available to all (I think) with some costing real money, but what about the cosmetics and charms in the rift? The 4th Anniversary event? The 2020 Advent calendar?

Again, correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't get those anymore. You can't get cosmetics and charms from previous rifts, you can't get the Anniversary crowns and other cosmetics anymore, and I'm pretty sure you can't collect items from the Advent calendar after a certain amount of time. I believe that's the case of, "if you miss the day, you miss it."

While cosmetics and charms aren't my main purpose to play DBD, I just had this weird memory pop up in my head, and I just found it weird. If my memory is correct, why did the Devs go back on their word?

(And yes, I'm aware that the Halloween skins are still available in the store, and most other rare cosmetics were given to players for free, but I'm just wondering about the recent stuff that go back on their word if it's true)

I've been wondering this myself for a while, especially after the whole Halloween charm fiasco where Streamers were given a limited amount of codes for 1 use only and everyone was going crazy over it. The Dwightcrow charm I think it was? But, either way, charm or not, how many people were locked out of gaining that? Regardless of wether it be a charm or a single cosmetic item for a character, setting them for a set time of availablility with no option to buy them after the event is, in my eyes, making exclusives.
