Skill Check Blindness
This is my first time creating a thread on this site, so I really hope I'm doing this right. If not, then I'm very ashamed and sorry...
I was talking to a friend that doesn't know much about this game, but she lets me talk to her about it. I mentioned to her that I have issues seeing skill checks sometimes and I wanted to post a thread and see if there's any people like me playing this game. She encouraged me to ask so I am.
This isn't a technical issue or a bug or anything wrong with the game. I don't have the best eyesight in the world and I have trouble seeing the skill checks when they appear against a light background. Say I'm doing a gen in a house on Haddonfield - If I'm looking at the wall, I can't see the skill checks when they pop up so I'd miss them because the wall is a light color. I have to be looking at a dark spot in order for me to see the skill checks. I can usually look at ceilings and the skies or just dark walls when I do gens and anything requiring skill checks. So that coupled with my pretty slow reflexes has me missing skill checks somewhat often. I've actually gotten better at it over the course I've played this game, so I'm proud of myself for improving x3
I really enjoy this game despite its negatives and while I miss skill checks because I can't see them sometimes, it's not the game's fault or anyone else's fault. I just wanted to make this thread and see if anyone else has the same issue.

I'm afraid there isn't a whole lot you can do. Best I can suggest is try to put your field of vision against the LEAST offensive thing in your field of view (maybe the generator itself?)
It sounds like your reflexes are just going to be at the mercy of the skill check chime that warns you it is coming. Sorry, man.

I feel I have this same issue as well. I don't remember ever having this issue with the old gens before they were visually reworked. These days if the skillcheck overlaps the gen, I can't really see it, I always point my camera at any direction not facing the gen so the skill check doesn't camouflage with the gen. I wish there was an option to change the color of the skillcheck pop-up thing to something else besides white.

I have this issue too, especially on Ormond.
I wish the skillcheck graphic was adaptive: goes black against bright back drops, white against darker/neutral backdrops.

I also like to run Technician because of this.

First have her use this.
Then once she's comfortable with skill checks and is trained to listen to the chime, it'll help her get muscle memory. When I do skill checks I usually only half look at the skill check circle to get a general idea of where the 'good' area is. (This is why Doc is a newbie killer with those warping skill checks.)
Then when she's comfortable doing that. Play DbD muted for a while. Get rid of your reliance on sound so Huntress Lullaby doesn't get you.
Then when you're comfortable with that. Just play the game blindfolded. You don't need to see to play this game.
Once you play the game enough you can just boot it up and play while you're asleep. It's not that hard I promise.
