Wait, are we not allowed to call Victor a baby?

I've seen some people tip toeing around calling him a baby shortly after he came out as it's some horrible crime or something.

Are we seriously not allowed to call him a baby now? If so, why?

You can call him whatever you want, Just realise some places have rules against it and if you break those rules you have to face the concequence

Conjoined twin would be the correct term seeing as they are twins and not mother and son.

Call him whatever you want. It's a damn video game character for crying out loud! People take this PC culture wayyy too seriously, it's ridiculous.

My guess it's because it refers to Child Abuse.

Other games had this too for inciting violence.

you are right pc culture. because others would be quick to take BHVR to court because they didn't stop people from doing this. so they NIPPED that in the butt right away. but outside of any public communication means or their own forums they can not do anything. here on these forums and even on twitch they can act. they have stated it, why argue that? I'll tell you why, because you want to perpetuate the idea that they are trying to stop, GREAT GOING THERE!

sometimes you must take it to make sure others aren't misunderstanding. this is called trying to help and i don't care too many think that free speech is a license to make anyone listen to them and when they don't get the response they want they cry the first amendment. this is the problem i've seen happening for the last 30 years and I'm tired of seeing the decline of understanding and learning.

Ohhh last 30 years you say. Im am deeply sorry that i probably could not make you understand what's happening here because of the generational gap. Its just really stupid internet ######### but a good rule of thumb is to just never read anything on the internet. Periodt

if it's a good rule of thumb to never read anything on the internet, why are you responding to my post? and because of the fact I grew up before the internet was even open to the public and saw the internet grow into what it is today, I also have seen the trend of the country here to coddle people and make them feel good and not continue to push for better things, instead people are finding offense at everything posted and then cries that they are protected from people calling them on their lies and crap because of something that doesn't even cover them. but you shouldn't be reading this because of your rule of thumb and keep blissfully ignorant of how bad things are.

It's weird when people being up the first amendment in online contexts. The internet isn't a US territory for one thing.

    Freki Member Posts: 1,903

actually it is because they are us citizens and always think that they are due this protection anywhere they go, especially if it is a us based company or person. but you are correct, the only time it comes into play is if the city/state/federal government of the united states steps in and censures something online themselves or acts upon a post that originates or terminates with a united states based company or person. If i were to tell you that your father was a hamster and your mother smelt of elderberries you could cry first amendment all you want, but since my post was not a "hate speak" then you have no recourse. If this company decides to censure my post I also can cry first amendment but it doesn't apply because they are 1) not a us company and 2) not the city/state/federal government.

You see it here on this forum a great deal because so many don't like their opinion challenged and I step out and say now, now you can't pull that card because they aren't the federal government (or city or state). because people are taught that they have rights but most stop listening where those rights end. So in this case a non-US company has taken an official stance and they can act where they can have some control like here on their forums, webpages and they can even approach platforms like twitch and request censorship of a stream/streamer but twitch does not have to comply though they may do so if they so desire as they are not a city, state or federal government entity.

His size makes it easy to call him baby. But I guess on technical side of things he wouldn't be since he's a twin to Big woman who's name I don't remember so they'd be the same age. He's just a short gremlin since he couldn't grow outside of her.

Most people who call him a baby do indeed know he is not actually a baby. It's just easier to call him as such because of his small size.

Because it's almost 2021 where people get salty or offended about literally anything.

Call him whatever you want. Nobody will beat ya up. Just consider it a nickname.

I'm trying to come up with new nicknames: Hatchet Hucker for Huntress, IgiggleUscream M.D. for Doc, Great Giza for pyramid head... So baby seems ok.

He sounds, looks and acts like a baby??

sorry, but have you never seen a baby? The looks may be similar but that’s only because small, human and naked. Nothing more.

i get why people are calling him a baby. But he doesn’t act nor sound like one at all

From wikipédia: Conjoined twins, also known as Siamese twins, are identical twins joined in utero.

They're not conjoined twins, otherwise both should have same gender.

The twins are essentially a mother and son.

Because of Discord and Twitch terms of service, statements such as "kick the baby" are banned due to being reminiscent of child abuse.

It's also factually wrong, seeing as how Victor was, at LEAST, five years old before his death, and his corpse would have aged with Charlotte, which would keep them the same age. Yes, he looks like a baby, but that's simply because he wasn't able to properly form as Charlotte got most of the growth.

"A pair of conjoined twins, Charlotte and Victor Deshayes formed an emotional bond like none other."

Just because real life facts make the Twins impossible doesn't mean that the established lore of a fantasy-horror setting where an eldritch horror devours all of the hope from helpless Survivors is incorrect.

Who cares, the logic behind my statement is still correct despite whatever nit-picking fact you want to troll out of google search. They're twins, not mother and son. And again, who cares. lol.

If you selectively ignore all the aspects of Victor that portray him as infantile, then, sure, he's no longer a baby, but that's not at all constructive to talking about Victor. That's like saying "That blue Orbeez bead over there may look like a blueberry, but that's only because it's small, round, and blue. You can't worry about it being a choking hazard if you don't think of it as food."

The issue is how Victor comes across as being a baby even if the devs don't see him as one.

Additional comments: crying, wailing, screaming, an inability to form words (speak), small hands, small stature, an inability to not be restless when idle, and a naked body all point to "representation of baby" when combined. If those features combined don't make you think of infantile children, I would love to know what your description of the representation of an unhappy "baby" would be.
