DC Penalty + low FPS matches = no fun
So yeah, I nowadays have gotten more and more 20 FPS matches despite ping having said the game was healthy to enter. I can't even leave the match because of the dc penalty and I can't even enjoy the match as a killer. With survivor I can just suicide hook myself out of the game and try next one but as a killer I am forced to play the game with 20 fps. I can not hit anyone, I can not do anything productive or even try to win the game, it's hopeless...
There has to be a way for Killers to get out of the game without being punished for it.

Is this on console or pc? if it's on pc I guess you just need to upgrade it. Either take the dc penalty, go afk or don't play the game if having only 20 fps is common for you,

the thing is, it did not use to be common. This game used to work like a charm before the new killer was introduced, then it all went to crapper.

ping and fps have nothing to do with each other.
PC or console?

okay since people are questioning my hardware for this, I just want to make clear that I have a pretty powerful gaming PC; Geforce 1080. Intel Core i7-8700, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10. This is more than enough to run Dead by Daylight on Ultra and that is how I have been enjoying it for a very long time now until some recent patches were introduced to the game.

what other programs are you running in the background? are you streaming? on comms? solo queue? IT is correct that ping which is used soooooo incorrectly in these discussions has nothing to do with FPS. it has to do with how you have the system operating, what else is going on in the background and many other factors! I wish I could just list them all. but there are many factors that are not anything to do with the internet or even dbd servers.

I am just shooting here blindly, just trying to figure out a solution. I don't stream, I have no other background programs running while I play. I do not have viruses slowing down my games and programs. I have tried reinstalling the game. Nothing seems to be working. Sometimes the game works like a charm, sometimes (more often than not) it does drop the fps to unplayable numbers whether I am in a match or not.

there are lots of possibilities still. but you can not always corelate FPS with Latency when this happens i'd recommend sending your information in to the devs when this happens and see what they can come up with. without being near your system it is very hard to troubleshoot computer issues.

Well that is true, these things can be impossible to figure out when not near the problem itself... Thanks for the help anyway, much appreciated!
