Should there be new game modes?

I know everyone’s probably screaming NO. And that’s a fair point. But it IS something to consider to spice up the game and bring more attention and players to it if needed.

I’ve heard a lot of people say they go off it because it’s repetitive. I personally can’t get enough of this but I see why they could think that. A new game mode along the same premises of the current one might help. For example, a bigger game of 5 killers and 20 survivors, with just pallets and loops and it’s the last one standing wins. Just my first thought I’m sure there’s better options and I doubt this will happen but It’s something to ponder on.

The issue is that when you start adding new game modes, you send out the message that other game modes are open to creation. This inevitably leads to suggestions by players, which are quite frankly either 1) awful 2) unbalanced 3) awfully unbalanced. Then, people start being entitled about game suggestions and start leaving the game.

For instance, I'd really enjoy your proposed bloodbath of a game mode. I suck at survivor so I don't even have to try to sandbag. Of course, that would mean that certain combinations would have disgustingly game-breaking synergy (imagine having a doctor and a nurse; the killer you explicitly can't hide from and the killer you can only hide from), and people would start suggesting more and more unfair gamemodes. Then, that would lead to people leaving since they've had a taste of game mode freedom and won't settle for what the restrictions they have, or start migrating to the game modes that explicitly favor them, meaning there would be no survivors in the killer-sided game mode and no killers in the survivor-sided game mode.

But really, one more measly little game mode, by maybe just changing the objectives, probably wouldn't hurt.

We need a casual mode, that is more forgiving and gives more chances to both sides.

We also need a hardcore mode, for veterans that got bored by the current mechanics.

And maybe give the ranked mode some rewards.

Make what we have now casual.... by removing rank from end game screens and replacing them with either Devotion level or level of killer/survivor played as

Then make the competitive mode by having rank reset mean playing 5 matches perkless and get put into a rank and play from there.... also expand ranks from 4 per color to 10 per color and either make perks weaker/stronger or forcing players to pick from a limited pool of perks (which I don't like) and rewards for reaching rank (like Overwatch)

And improving KYF to be a real custom mode... allow us:

To pick a map seed (from like 10-20)

Have options to adjust (whatever you want to see here)

Have option to change (whatever you want to see here)

And have an experimental mode (like Overwatch) so the devs can put unfinished or incomplete patches on for additional testing... something we all want now (right?)

We need a game mode where the four survivors hunt down the killer and try to kill them with DS

    Oof yeah lol

But in all seriousness, I really like the idea of them maybe adding a festive for funsy game mode for a holiday event. Since the usual dbd match is always "ranked" mode it would be nice to have some kind of casual mini game mode where people could chill and have more fun than have to worry about mega sweat squads or tryhard killers etc.

Idk about anyone else but sometimes I just close dbd because there's too much tension for me to play any matches of survivor or killer and I'd appreciate a for fun mode.

Do you really think, they would put some work into a festive game mode, when there wasn´t even a Christmas Event?

I mean, if you play a meme build of any kind people give you death threats and fire off all kinds of slurs at you. Unless they all manage to escape then they might be tolerant of it.

So idk how people would handle a different game mode. They can't handle anything different as is.

The only game mod needed is a casual mod which allows only solo players and has a seperate balancing.

  • SWF queue times; given you need to fill 1 blank spot quite often, would then become basically unplayable. It could push survivor queue times to more than triple what they are currently for that queue alone; maybe more.

Same thing as playing the "meta"

    Ruin/undying

DS/Unbreakable (With or without Soul Guard)

    Corrupt/PGTW

    Forever Freddie

I didn't get messages from Whispers only Wraith

I've been told I was good after using Old ruin/ Old HL... on Pig (with Tampered Timer)

YES, I WANT THEM TO DO SO MUCH MORE WITH CUSTOM GAMES!! I want to be able to change tiers of perks and ban certain killers/survivors, perks and offerings. Maybe even control aspects of the game like hatch, number of generators and exit gates!

    Yes.

Arena Mode - The killer has to hunt respawning survivors. The survivors die after a single hit. The killer has to kill as many survivors as possible before the time expires. The survivors have to obtain certain collectables before the time expires. The more kills/collectables at the end of the match, the higher personal bonus. A map vote takes place before each match.

They need to improve and maintain game health for the single mode they already have. When they have so many issues with one mode I can't imagine how bad it'd be with multiple modes.

Gamemodes could make Certain Killers either Super Strong in that Game Mode or or Super Bad
