Are console survivors ... trolls?
I don't get it, the first time they are hooked, they are literally suiciding themselves in like 90% of cases, making it like 2vs4 within the first 2 minutes because they got caught while PC players patiently wait for someone to rescue.
I am not saying all console are like that, but around 80-90% of them are like that. I mean, yeah, you can turn crossplay off... Which makes queues longer.

I also have this problem, I get the feeling a lot of console players are just inexperienced kids who don't know what they are doing and die on hook because they didn't even know they had to struggle while hooked.

I think there is a huge bias when it comes to PC and CONSOLE. Plenty of PC players say console players are bad. I was on console for 3 years until 3 weeks ago when I switched to PC. In my 3 years of playing on console the only people that suicide on hook are people that are very low ranks, when they go into phase 2 on first hook, or when they think no one is going for them. Now this isn’t every case but when I see it happen these are usually the reasons. In my 3 weeks of PC I’ve seen PC people do it as well.
My theory is there is way more console players (PS4, XBOX, SWITCH) compared to PC so the 3:1 makes it look like console players do it more since they have 3x the player base. Especially with PS4 and XBOX both having higher player counts than PC. Idk about switch but I assume they have the lowest player count.
Similar to how a big city(console) has a higher crime rate than a small town(PC).

This seems like a symptom of the PC-Masterrace-Syndrome.
there is in fact not really a difference between general players based on platforms. Except maybe those that stem from the platform itself. So it might be possible they experience more often lag of internet connection or input lag from controllers or just FPS stutters that lead to hook ‚suicides‘
but if it’s 80-90 % percent in matches for You but not for others.. maybe your playstyle could be a factor as well?

Xbox player here and I can unfortunately say I've been a victim of that myself. Though, I think the OP is saying that they're "attempting to escape" as a means of suicide (since the chance to get off the hook is quite low without perks). I actually had a game like that last night as Survivor, 2 of my team mates were dead pretty much immediately after being hooked. Maybe they were legitimately testing their luck on unhooking themselves? Or maybe they didn't like playing against Demogorgon and suicided? Hard to know hehe.

PC player with half of my DBD friends on console...
It's not a console VS PC thing. People (myself included) are just sometimes done with it. After several bad matches with campers/tunnellers/bad teammates/annoying killers, any player gets tired of it.
Pretty sure most of us can tell when a match has already gone bad and we just don't want to be in it anymore. Plus, if we can't just leave a match that we aren't having fun in without being punished for not taking it up the ass, the only other option is to just die on hook.

PC players have complained about hook suicides since before crossplay was active. Stop with the console v pc complaints when both sides complained equally about the same issues before crossplay was even a thing.

I can only speak from my own experience and the ones my friends have shared.
Most console players that we have encountered in our matches have an extremely "safe" way of playing. This includes red and purple ranks. Rarely are players willing to take a hit or coming back to save if the exit gates are open, with many of them only lasting a few seconds during a chase.
I know this isn't to say everyone will experience this, but after turning off cross-play, seeing the difference after is like day and night. It has been a less frustrating experience for sure.

I'm not saying all pc players are
But 80-90% do nothing but complain

There is no difference between console and pc players. The only difference is pc killers have better control.

trolls exsist on all platforms. At 500 hours in this game I have not seen any specific number of trolls exsist more on 1 platform. Console players have a higher chance of DC'ing then anyone else, but anyone will die on first hook if annoyed.
Thinking console players are more trolls or toxic then PC players is an incorrect assumption.

I think you meant to say "PC player good, console player bad". Cause there totally isn't already 3,000,000 posts about that.
