Fast Gens On the Rise?

Is it just me or has there been an increasing amount of content regarding gens going by in ~3 minutes? I cannot tell if these scenarios are more of a fluke caused by being placed with more top% survivors that know what they are doing or if the general survivor meta has just shifted. In light of all the outcry about Ruin/Undying, I almost feel like survivors are fighting back by just hard focusing on gens.

Now obviously, this does not happen every game but I feel like it has been happening more often recently, and I suspect the general hatred survivors have toward Ruin/Undying has something to do with it.

While gens easily go by in a swf team trying to win, if it's a team of solo que then you're probably not on top of your sh- er... stuff.

It's just to get more views honestly.

Those videos attract all these killers that love to blame every game they lose on genrush and fail to see the mistakes they/the content creator did in those matches

Might be placebo, but against killers like Spirit, Deathslinger, Freddy and Pyramid Head, 4 competent survivors will know not to engage in a chase and just rush gens as fast as they possibly can because they don't want to be in a match with these killers any longer than they have to be. And since these killers are pretty popular right now gens are probably gonna be going faster. There's no fun or point in getting chased by these killers so it's best to just do gens and get out with some BPs.

Do you know I agree with you. I rarely play this game, so maybe it might've been because I hadn't played in a while but I played it a day ago and gens were very quick and I was getting quite a lot of escapes. I also watch Tru3Ta1ent and he's been making lots of videos where the generators have been going quite quickly BUT he has been playing without gen defence perks.

And by the time you finish the 4th gen and realise it's a wraith it's too late to turn back 😔

I did face some ridiculous teams a few weeks ago. The quickest team pumped out 5 gens in 3 minutes and 8 seconds.

Most games are DS, Spirit, Freddy or PH, and if anyone else is like me, they will literally let people almost go second stage before saving and actually just straight up hide because chases are that mind numbingly boring. So yes, gens and only gens in those cases, otherwise games feel the same as usual.

Why doesn’t Leatherface just cut the hands off of survivors so they can’t repair the gens?

I remember someone asked for tips playing against Freddy, literally everyone encouraged him to spread out and do gens. Of course doing separate gens means doing the objective faster which also means “gen rushing”.
