Help with an Oni build

Hello, folks!

So I'm still leveling up my killers, and I'm testing out stuff I like on Oni. I have pretty good luck with Corrupt Intervention, Sloppy Butcher, BBQ, and Pop. My dilemma is, I've just unlocked Tinkerer, which I know is CRAZY powerful on Oni. I know that you want to keep Pop if you bring Tinkerer, and Sloppy Butcher causes Hemorrhage, but I really REALLY want that BP boost from BBQ, plus the intel when you hook is often perfect for a dash.

Which means I'm considering tossing Sloppy. I know when you M1 them they bleed anyway, but is the increase in bleed pronounced enough that I really should get rid of BBQ, or can I run Tinkerer, Corrupt, BBQ, and Pop?

Drop sloppy. It does make the Survivors bleed more, bt doesn´t make them drop more orbs per se.

Hey man, I main Oni and have roughly 1500 hours on him give or take. I would SERIOUSLY recommend you get infectious fright on Oni, it turns him into a completely different killer. If you end up getting all the perks from the killers, I'd personally recommend 1 of 2 builds, and then if not, I'll recommend what I would run with what you've listed.

Build 1: BBQ, Infectious fright, Pop goes the weasel, and Monitor and Abuse

Build 2: BBQ, Infectious fright, Hex: Ruin, Hex: Undying

Build 3 with what you've listed you have: Pop goes the weasel, BBQ, Tinkerer, Corrupt intervention.

Build 1 is to maximize your slugging potential with Monitor makin your terror radius massive so infectious has a bigger range, and you can sneak up to survivors easier, because Oni's chase music is strangely quiet. Build 2 is to maximize gen slowdown, and is what I've been using since undying came out. BBQ is amazing on Oni, keep it for sure. sloppy butcher actually doesn't increase the amount of blood orbs you get, so its not as good as you may think. Build 3 lets you have more time at the start to get that first hit with corrupt, and it has stealth synergy with tinkerer, so you can instantly catch someone off guard with your power, down them, use the pop, and repeat the process when you see someone on BBQ. Hope I helped! -An Oni main who seriously loves this killer and loves trying to get more people to give him a shot.

Thank you much! It sounds like you mostly approve of what I'm currently using and just need a little Infectious Fright to maximize slugging capability. I'm going to try it with what I have available (Build 3) tomorrow. Oni definitely had a steep ramp up but I think I'm starting to get the hang of the Dash, the Tetsubo slam, and the best ways to utilize momentum. Even the games I get with zero kills are always fun since I've hooked everyone multiple times and it's a harrowing escape for the Survivors (at least, when I'm not up against SWF anyway). Appreciate the insight!

Awesome! and yes exactly, your build is quite good if you use it correctly. infectious is definitely his best perk, but you can still 100% do well without it, he's an amazing killer regardless once you get the hang of the demon dash and demon strike timings. another incredibly important skill I suggest you keep a conscious effort in mind of when you're playing is when to slug, and when to pick up. you keep you're power progress when you pick someone up, so if you down someone with nobody else around, often times its better to pick up, because you'll get your power back soon. I hope you get really good! I think the community needs more Oni players, he's such a good killer and so fun to play.

I don't like using tinkerer on Oni cause survivors can hear those loud-ass stomps when Oni is mad and shining. And I also don't like Ruin + Undying cause it's too inconsistent and I often lose half my perks 2 minutes in the game.

My current build with Oni is BBQ, Pop, Discordance and Infectious Fright. Discordance is really good on him to get those first hits, and to know where to go when you have Blood Fury ready.

Now I don't use Oni because he makes me ill, but my friend is a pretty big Oni main and suggests keeping Sloppy Butcher equipped. Yeah, it doesn't make them drop more blood orbs, but it makes them mangled, which means it takes them longer to heal, in turn meaning there's less time spent on gens and more time spent injured, meaning more blood too.

I think his build is BBQ/Sloppy/Ruin/Undying, so obviously you could sub out RuinDying for CorruptPop like you're doing now, but I'd honestly get rid of Corrupt for Tinkerer if I'm being completely honest.

But it keeps them injured for longer and potentially gives you 16m of distance on them because no-one wants to be injured agaisnt Oni.

True, Sloppy has value, I just think the other options are better.

Personally I find the build I use the most is Infectious/Pop/BBQ/Corrupt. I actually don't really like running Monitor on him with infectious because at the max range a decent survivor will be able to hide effectively since 40 meters is quite the distance to make up even in Blood Fury. And if you aren't running duration or fury consumption addons your power could be almost used up by the time you make it to them. If you REALLY wanted to make sure you win just run the basic ######### Ruin/undying/tinkerer plus whatever forth perk you want. But with tinkerer even if you are undetectable Oni in Blood Fury is super loud and you can hear his footsteps from about 20 or so meters.
