What's the point?
We screamed "color blindness settings!"
And they responded "Let's rework the user interface!"
What's the point of the forum? What's the point of even talking about what we want? This isn't our boat, we're just watching it sail. :(

What did you say? Cosmetics? More cosmetics it is then.

just because you didn't get your wants in this time doesn't mean it's ignored. do you know what would actually go into making color blindness options a reality? do you know how long it's been since they've been working on redoing the hud? lots of factors are around and most the players do not see.

You guys are implying we do a fantastic job on the forums. More $15 skins.
5 -
Every valid complaint/necessity translates to "Make more cosmetics" in dbd dev speak lol.
I can literally picture them having a developer update video that lists each real issue and then saying "We hear you loud and clear, Meg is getting a scuba suit".
6 -
This has to stop Cosmetics and UI are 2 different teams just because we get more cosmetics does not mean game development gets held back there 2 completely different teams
7 -
It was a joke. Google humor, study up.
2 -
i have a sense of humor and that is not funny people going around saying stupid stuff like that and then everyone says all they care about are cosmetics but the truth is the cosmetic team is completely different from game development I can’t tell if your joking or being serious.

With how some of the maps are colored it's less of a want, and more of a need for those affected.
Most every game out there has color blindness options. It's downright ridiculous how BHVR has not implemented it in the 4 years this game has been running.

It was said with obvious humor. Jokes are necessary here... It gets a little tense so chill man chilli_man.

I know it gets tense here and I’m happy people make humor but when I saw the comments talking about the cosmetics I got so angry I had to say something cause it annoys me when people think they only care about cosmetics when in reality cosmetic designers don’t code the game there completely different people

I think the big issue is that certain things that would give accessibility would be a bit hard in a game where stealth is a major factor. Being able to change the colors of the scratches for Killer or changing aura colors is probably the most you would get, though such changes would be completely welcome.
I have a friend that is colorblind and legitimately can't see Hag traps. Even if they are right in front of her, she can't see them. She mentioned having a mode that changed their colors, but for someone like me that isn't colorblind, they would stick out like neon signs saying "don't step on me". So I understand that there is only so much they can realistically do that won't be abused. Hence why auras and scratch colors would likely be best.
It's also worth pointing out that scratch colors would be a bit of an issue as well. Red, from a distance, can be hard to notice in the dark. It's one of the reasons the military uses red lights at night: The soldier up close can see what it illuminates, while people at a distance have a much harder time seeing the red light. Given this, changing the scratch colors COULD make seeing them in the distance much easier for people without colorblindness. The devs will have to weigh if that being used as an exploit is a good trade off.

again, who cares what anyone said that they wanted! the point is just because this comes out now does not mean that it is not off the drawing board. there is a great deal of work that goes into a color blind option that does not give ADVANTAGE to those that use it. You obviously didn't read it. just because no one wanted this doesn't mean they aren't going to do it. no one wanted the twins but we have them. no one wanted the doc but we have him. You see there is a great deal of want this community has but it does not realize that they are going to get everything they want nor will it happen right away. I don't deny there is a disadvantage for those with color blind aspects but it is not easy to put something like that in that will give them the advantage over someone not using them because they are not. imagine you are not color blind aspected (there is more than one version of it as i am sure you are well aware of) and then you are a survivor playing p3 quinten or claudette, you are hiding in a perfect spot and you have a hard time seeing you, but along comes the killer who's playing with the color blind settings (doesn't matter that they are or are not) and they walk right up to you and smack you as if you weren't hiding at all. this is why it takes time for it to come through so it's not advantage against those that do not use it.
most games have it? really i can say that is not true. I have a great many games that has no color blind options what so ever. and before you come back and amend your statement to most of the newer games, you did not say this so i responded properly. I never said it was not needed I just said that this option needs to be implented so it does not give advantage and I asked if the op knew what went into making sure this is done right so I ask YOU the same thing, do you know how to implement it so that it does not give someone that is using the option (face it people without being color blind will use it if it gives them an advantage) the advantage over others that do not use it? no? then stop crying because if it is put in there and someone had the advantage over you because of the option you'd be whining on the boards here just like you are now because this is not what YOU wanted.

How could that give anyone an advantage, can you tell me that?
1 -
They could theoretically scale back on their cosmetics design department and beef up their fix the bugs department though. Just saying. I honestly don't care personally but if pay-to-get outfits steadily keep coming but bug fixes are still in the far out scope... There's still a fundamental issue.

cahnge the colors of the game and it can make things stand out much more than before. there is a huge stealth component with the game so YES it can make a difference, how ever slight. it's like turning your shaders off or the contrast all the way to make it so that shadows have no effect what so ever!

So you're telling me bright orange scratch Mark's don't stick out whatsoever to you?

I am not arguing against an option for color blind people, I am how ever saying that if you are wanting it because it gives an advantage to you then you are asking for an exploit. I am asking that it is something that is implemented for this does not give the advantage but lets someone color blind have the ability to play normally. IF there is an advantage then players without color blindness will use it for advantage and that is wrong. are you telling me you want an exploit to be put in the game? or are you wanting something that fixes the game colors to help you play normally? if you say the latter then you are making drama over agreeing with what I am saying.

How is changing colors an exploit? If that's true then having recolors of outfits in the store is an exploit for people to see others easily.
Do you even understand how you sound right now?
3 -
You are not even reading. I said it COULD happen that it gives advantage if not implemented right. we are not talking about ONE outfit being recolored but the whole Fing screen will have different colors. This changes how the shadows and darkened areas work. To implement something that benefits anyone using the option is an exploit put into the game, putting something in that benefits people that need it to play NORMALLY is not an exploit put into the game. you are using inane circumstances that have no bearing on what i've talked about. different colored outfits? don't use them if they stand out too much if you don't want to stand out! that's an outfit that is not the coloring over the whole screen that a color blind option will do. you are the one that needs to understand how inane you sound. Let me speak directly again:
I'm advocating for a color blind option that lets people that are color blind play the game normally and not give an advantage to someone that does not need it.
is that better? are you understanding me now? or do you think that no one can turn something into advantage that is not intended if it's implemented properly? how much did you like the fact that DS didn't work when put against doc and how many people started playing doc alone during that time before that was fixed? (it needed to be fixed yes!) I'm laughing at how you can be so blind about why something could be perverted to advantage if not done right!

and if you have proof of them using this do you or have you not reported it? that is something that can not be detected and you'd have to have proof of this. I do not condone this either and if I could prove they were cheating i'd report them to bhvr AND where I found them broadcasting the cheat. I did this with someone cheating in Fall Guys, because twitch does not condone cheating in the game.

You should take comedy lessons then

You do realize there are several different types of color blindness so they would have to re do every map every killer and survivor and other things several times until they gat almost every version of color blindness that means they would need several people with different color blindness to work on it not to mention every month and a half they would have to re do an older map due to the graphical rework
(Hopefully this is a possibility but that will take a while)
