Isn't Borrowed Time an anti-tunneling perk? Why do survivors need two?
Just wondering.

How would a survivor know that a teammate is running BT? Even then, how would a survivor who was running BT be able to avoid being tunnelled if none if his teammates had it?

BT is more of an anti camping perk.

Hmm, for me, the pregame chat works nicely, a lot of times. Sometimes not, thats true.

Consoles don't even have that which is another issue that should be sorted.

Yeah, i am a pc player, and dont know the limitations of console players, sorry.

Yall do know that it tells you your teammate has borrowed time on the right side of the screen? Lol

BT Is an anticamping perk not anti-tunneling.
1 -
More of an anti - camp perk but the unhooked survivor typically uses it to take a hit for the unhooker.
Which isn't really what it's supposed to be used for, but hey, who's keeping track of how perks are supposed to be used.

So it's okay for survivors to stack 2nd chance perks but it's bad when killers use more than 1 gen slow down perk? So that's why ruin+undying are getting nerfed. The devs don't like killers. Thanks for confirming what this community has suspected for 5 years.

No its not bad for Killers to stack 2 slown down gen perks or more, you can put Ruin, Dying Light and Thanatophobia for example or switch Ruin with PGTW etc, that kind of stuff rarely sees people complaining on the forum.
What devs dont like is Survivors having to go through 4 Ruin cleanses while the Killer has high mobility with Tinkerer, while he can see you cleansing and Ruin keeps putting gens at 0% progress.

it's unfortunate that only PC has the chat feature.

Only like 5 out of 22 killers have mobility. What about the rest? Your still proving my point. Ruin+Undying+Tinker is bad but DS+UB+BT+Adren with a key is fine. Double standard.

I mean... Why not? There's multiple gen regression perks, insta down perks, stealth perks, anti stealth perks, ...
Like... Why shouldn't there be multiple anti tunneling perks?

Its 8 (Hillbilly, Nurse, Freddy, Spirit, Blight, Legion, Demogorgon and Oni) and its easier to nerf Undying than nerf 8 Killers which some would require entire reworks since mobility is the only thing they have going for them.
In any case, this is a thread about BT and its supposed meaning and use not another "DEVS NERFED UNDYING BIAS BIAS!" so we shouldnt derail it with pointless whatabouthism and role wars, you have already plenty of those to give your opinion.

Yeah consoles players don't have access to the pregame chat. If they did I would ask them if they have perks like Kindred so I don't waste a perk slot on it but right now unfortunately it's not possible.

If only 2 people have BT and one of them keeps being chased away by the killer, the other one can sneak in and unhook.

If it is a Nurse with god-like precision, she can breakthrough Borrowed Time with no problem. Here is why Decisive is needed, though even with both of them Amazing Nurses can eliminate your very quickly if they want.

I respect what you mean, but a good Nurse ignores all Survivor mechanics and perks. She can even just eat DS and still catch up. Nurse is the exception to almost every rule.

I thought BT was anti-camping, while DS was anti-momentum with a splish-splash of anti-tunneling

And for console?

Nowhere it says it's not supposed to be used like that. There's no rule to say how you have to use a survivor or killer perk. That's why no one keeps track of how perks are 'supposed' to be used. We can only keep track of how they're actually used.
Moreover, even if we admitted that the perk is 'supposedly' to be anti-camping, it stands to reason that players will try to use it in a such a way to deny as much as possible any benefit from camping, such as avoiding a 1v1 by bodyblocking, for example.

It's not anti-tunnel, it's more anti-camping. However, it leaves the user completely vulnerable, so all you can really do against a camping killer is guarantee a one-for-one.
Really, there are no "anti-tunnel" perks. A good anti-tunnel perk would be based on total chase duration compared to other survivors (meaning the game would compare how much a survivor is chased to how much other survivors are chased). Currently, none do that, because all of the purported "anti-tunnel" perks are not meant to be anti-tunnel perks. DS is a watered-down second chance perk with very broad protections that encompass anti-tunneling, as well as other capacities. Mettle of man can be a half-decent anti-tunnel, but it doesn't compare how many hits you take relative to others; it's just another second chance perk that can be easily activated if you get tunneled.
That's why camping and tunneling are still prevalent. They aren't fun and I find them reprehensible if used right off of the bat (sometimes, they have legitimate uses), but there's no way to punish them. The "hook proximity" penalty is negligible at best, and so people have free license to camp and tunnel; BT will still get killers a down and DS Is too broad and unspecific to be a good anti-tunnel perk. A good anti-camping perk would involve some sort of health insurance for the savior (perhaps giving them a free endurance state for every survivor on the hook and negating hook grabs), and a good anti-tunnel would involve the game actually looking to see if tunneling is occurring by comparing how much a survivor is chased compared to others; not just the killer looking around and happening to stumble on the poor chap he just hooked. Plus, a 5 second stun isn't always that bad, especially midgame.

Because two survivors running BT are going to be twice as helpful, in theory?
1 -
It's not anti tunneling at its core. It's anti camping.

To be honest if a good killer wants to tunnel neither of these perks will stop them. They just punish him for doing so, also DS doesn't have anti-camp ability while BT isn't that reliable since the killer may be undetectable or simply too far away, it's a good idea to have them both usually.

^ this.
Skilled Killers will shut these "2nd chance perks" DOWN.
I've seen it on both sides of the fence.

BT is an anti camp and tunnel if you think about it.
