Why can survivors kill themselves?
The hook 3 times 4% chance and the spamming in phase 2 is a really bad game design.
Since the DC panalty (which is awesome) was added all survivors are killing them self on hook. I can't play a single match without a suicide. The survivors shouldn't be able to kill them self when one thing is not in there favor.
I want to play on higher ranks again but with these teammates it's so hard.

It’s one of the reasons why struggle is a terribly outdated mechanic, give us skill checks already damnit

I would really like if they removed hook suicide as I think it's unhealthy for the game but I also understand the arguments for keeping it in. I especially hate it as someone who brings WGLF nearly every game as the ability to get stacks is already so limited.
Hook struggle mash really needs to go for sure though. Pyramid Head's skill checks are infinitely better.

Remove campers, tunnelers and sluggers too.

To fulfill what we can't in real life, duh. /jk

I personally believe we have enough skill checks in the game, and do not think the solution to struggling is adding more skill checks. When facing pyramid head, doing gens, healing, snapping out of madness tier 3, and completing jigsaw boxes we get skill checks. We face even more when perks like overcharge and oppression are ran. I think the addition of more skill checks to replace struggling would make them too repetitive in a match and people would become very sick of them. Therefore, if the struggling mechanic is changed, I think an alternative to adding more skill checks should be found.

The devs are gonna see this data and think every killer is a beast in need of nurfs

There's a lot of things unhealthy for the game. Forcing people to keep playing in a match that sucks is unhealthy for the game.

There's no point in staying in a match when your team isn't doing anything and the killer has to keep pacing back and forth.

The issue is, you don't KNOW they suicided on purpose, or if they literally didn't have time to stay in a match. They could be console and their controller died, which has happened to me mid-struggle, or maybe they had a IRL emergancy they had to go deal with. Or maybe they just wanted to peace out and leave. You can't force a person to play a match they want to leave. Yes, suicides on hook is annoying but forcing someone to play when they don't want to is not the answer.

I agree, I think it'll make it very unfun for people if they're forced to stay in a match they don't want to be in. It may also cause people to stop playing Dead by Daylight.
I understand how frustrating it is when people kill themselves on hook but in most scenarios I don't disagree with their decision (most of the time people do it when killers are running really unfun builds or playing in a way that makes it unfun). Along with this, sometimes it's more beneficial when someone does kill themselves on hook, for example when the killer is pushing for a 4k and the only way you escape is by someone killing themselves on hook, allowing you to escape through hatch.

I get that. But what perplexes me is why is there even a DC penalty then? And why can it be circumvented by hook suicide? If they want to quit that's fine but they should at least be penalized through the DC penalty so they aren't just hopping match to match quitting when any little thing doesn't go their way and ruining it for up to 4 other people imo.
I think that you have an obligation to the rest of the survivors when you queued up for a team game to at least try to play the game out unless an IRL issue comes up personally.

Nope. Like some already mentioned if the team isn't doing their part then why should you?
