Redhead's Pinky Finger needs a nerf now
Redhead's Pinky Finger was always an extremely powerful add-on that was held back by the simple fact that the clown sucked, big time. However, now that the clown is actually usable I decided to try the add-on again and after several matches, I can confidently say that this add-on can rival the Iri head+infantry belt combo. Back in the day if the clown missed all his bottles he would have to endure an extremely long reload time, however now his reload is very short so he can do it during a chase and still be after you, and even if you manage to get a distance away from him now he has a second power that gives him the speed to close the gap again.
One change I thought about is maybe making the insta down mechanic only work if you hit the survivor with the antidote bottle, that way a survivor can use the speed boost gained to build some distance if you miss your shot. Maybe it would also make it so the speed boost from the antidote now only applies to survivors, making the Redhead finger a high risk high reward add-on.

They left it in.
Statistics say that it isn't strong. So the devs are always right. /s
It should've got nerfed though. I'm surprised it didn't. Was a pretty strong add-on. Anything strong gets nerfed right away.

Sure i think that seems fair, it rewards you big time for landing bottles from far away since you can also get the speed boost but up close you won't get anything and it might hurt you but that's fair for trying to expose them.
however i won't go as far as only giving the survivors the speed boost, i think simply risking giving it to them at all is pretty fair.
1 -
That wouldn't really work; the yellow gas doesn't activate instantly so all you'd be doing is giving yourself a speed boost, really. I think it should be that you need to be sped up and the survivor needs to be slowed down at the same time for an instadown to happen.
2 -
I was surprised this had no change as I'd consider it a blatanlty awful add on to play against.
1 -
Why is the community so upset with instadowns? Clown has to hit survivor's with the bottle and he has very little time to get the hit, therefore I consider the add-on fair do to the simple fact that he has to be tactical to get the bottle.
Next thing you know we are putting a range restriction on this add-on to create that 1 very useless add-on for the killer
5 -
Its more that 90% of Clowns will just bloodlust it and slam the bottle in your back from 2 feet away, removing any actual chance of dodging it and making for a very dull chase. I've never seen a Clown go for actual ranged hits with this or play normally until they get one by chance in an open area.
I've also never seen it not paired with an ebony mori.
Also, this add on is from when Clown slowed upon throwing a bottle making that palystyle impossible. It was never changed upon the movespeed buff.

It still isn't really that great though. Just drop pallets down early against Clown, don't get caught in the open, and bam ez game. Seriously, the pinky finger is his best addon, but he is still a weak killer. The addon will only work if he can catch up to you, so just drop pallets early to not risk getting hit with it.

Moris are gone.
Now instas have to go too?
4 -
Even if the clown does miss the bottle, you still get slowed from the gas which basically guarantees the next bottle throw hits you.
There's really not much you can do to play around this addon.
2 -
Never said that. Said the add-on is a holdover from an old mechanic and was designed with that in mind.
1 -
So it needs a buff.

There aren't really any ways you could buff it without changing its trigger condition. Which imo is the problem. Maybe make it like a less punishing iridiscent head. 2 bottles max but they travel significantly faster and have the current effect.
Or just remove the slowdown gas and make them Exposed without a slowdown effect.

What

Yada yada yada!
"Its more that 90% of Clowns will just bloodlust it and slam the bottle in your back from 2 feet away, removing any actual chance of dodging it"
That's like getting mad at the fact that your out positioned and have to take a hit and getting mad that you had no reaction time try and avoid getting M1'd.
"and making for a very dull chase."
So we are back to the thought process that killers are responsible for survivors fun I guess. Killers are suppose to use and ruin builds that are fun survivor's. Because ######### the fact that the killer is a player as well.

Its not a particularly fun add on to use either. I dropped Freddy for Clown after his launch as a main and played him for a long time. The add on is extremely boring, mainly because you just slow with one bottle and get the hit with another. As a survivor its boring because you don't get the back and forth in the chase. The Clown will go out of his way to just bloodlust and get as close as possible until the bottle is unavoidable. Sure, it'll take a while but its boring. It's literally old Legion without the moonwalking.
Also could do without the victim complex in your post. I've been playing killer for 4 years, I'm looking at this from both sides. From a game design perspective, if something is enjoyable (and pinky finger being enjoyable is reaching) for one side to play for but unejoyable and unengaging to play on the other side (winning or losing has nothing to do with this, I can win against a slowdown Freddy. It doesn't mean I'm having fun) it makes sense to change it.
What are your thoughts on Iridiscent heads, by the way?

Yada yada!
I have mixed feelings about iri heads!
Everyone wants iriheads to have a range restriction and I heavily disagree. Put this way. If I'm bout to have sex and they ask me how long I am. You gotta find a ruler than measure yourself. After you measure your lil homie he ain't in the mood and neither are you.
The point that I'm trying to get is that no one is going to wait for that range limit due to the fact that it'll become useful against baby survivor's and survivor's will have too much reaction time so they can miss.
I suggest changing it to.
Hatchet trigger Dying on FULL WIND UP!
TREMENDOSLY increases WIND UP time!
One of the reasons why I have mixed feelings is because the add-on is considered broken if survivor's get outplayed example in the video below

Bruh?! A good clown will just use his bottle at the pallet to slow you down and then down you. It's not a great strategy and you don't wanna leave dead zones early match.

I mean I could see it getting changed or nerfed some but like....as bad as Iri head like hell it is lol.
Iri head is the strongest most over powered iri addon in the game....second to maybe like, a new part and even that isn't too bad if it's just one person with it.

As I said, if you can find and just drop pallets early you can never give him the chance to use the bottles on you. The second you are in the open for too long though, he will probably end up hitting you with them so loop smart. Against a killer like clown it doesn't really matter if there are suddenly dead zones in a match if everyone is on a gen (as they should be) and he is focused on you. There are more pallets than you think. Against a clown, he has no lethality in a chase (except with the ultra rare described) and moderate lethality with the pinky finger. Besides, this strategy varies on different maps such as springfield. On a map like springfield, you can actually use windows that are safe without using pallets for a little while.
I know it seems really scary going up against a clown with the pinky finger, but honestly the only thing you should worry about is your teammates dying on hook because they won't even try to go against it because they think it is too strong. I am being serious, it really is not as scary as you might think.

Once you realize they have pinky finger your team should rarely get hit by it. Clown bottles are hard to land if the survivor knows to juke the bottles. I've been in dead zones many times against a Clown with pinky finger who insisted on getting the bottle to hit. They might hit me about 10% of the time simply because of eradict movement. Not to mention this add on doesn't really do anything at pallet/window loops

I have seen survivors juke a hatchet at medium range consistently. I'm pretty sure a low missile speed bottle is not going to be that hard.

ITs relatively easy to get long range quick shots by charging to max and aiming down to lower the arc.

Lots of heads up its coming you should be better prepared hell break some los drop a pallet jump a windows its as other people say its a chainsaw attack with a lot of warning
0 -
it'll probably be nerfed when it goes on live, they don't want everyone to use all of them up right now lol. just like they didn't want people to spam moris before they nerfed them. they're probably doing something similar to keys, a lot of survivors are using them up right now just in case.

I see what you are saying but unfortunately when you play quite abit of solo survivor you cant really rely on teammates (I know that isn't the killers fault but yeh). It's crazy how much can get done in the first half of a match if people do one or two gens before looking in chests or doing totems. Obviously people should do them but I always think just pop one gen before anything else early game but unfortunately doesn't always work out that way. But I do dislike going against clown and with this new update it's most likely going to be clowns every other match for a little while. :/

Yeah solo is always going to be a problem, the best you can do is run kindred and hope your team has at least 3 brain cells.

True

It's not used that much? Playing against Clown I very rarely see this addon and when I have used it as Clown it's not really fun gameplay having to get so close to survivors and go for that hit, they often make it to windows or pallets before that happens and it wastes time. I rather use current Solvent Jug and Flask of Bleach or FoB and Ether 15% ending chases fast, it's probably overall better addon combinations than Pinky Finger/Cheap Gin Bottle.

I feel like it’s still easy to counter anyone who uses it. I’m investing a lot more hours into clown for the past month I still think there’s plenty of counter still. Survivors can easily dodge them and I just abuse Windows when versing it. Huntress is the only one who needs a change

Firstly, OP's suggestion doesn't work the way they hope it will. The speed-up gas has a delayed release, so hitting a Survivor directly with the bottle will not give them enough time for them to get the speed up unless they deliberately stand still, which means they get dunked on by the Clown. You could suggest that the gas works immediately only for them, but at that point, you are suggesting that the Clown should be much worse in a chase in exchange for this, which is laughable when you consider nearly every other Insta-down ability.
Secondly, Pinky Finger is not stronger than Leatherface. Leatherface is not OP. Ergo, Pinky Finger is not OP.
