Where’s the chapter build up?
Does anyone else miss when new chapters were actually hyped up for like a week or two? As in we’d get a teaser one week for speculation, wait a week and then the trailer reveal, and then wait a couple days the ptb?
I feel like it just makes the chapters much more fluid during release and not a jumbled mess, like Deathslinger Blight and Twins had no real time for hype. Pyramid head sure was just an anniversary killer but Oni had build up as well and both were much more exciting to see.
I just wanna know why the new way of doing things is release a teaser a day before the trailer and ptb? Just seems like a mess.
EDIT: I don’t mean we should have hype for mid chapter patches, that never was the idea, I mean for killer and survivor chapters like actual new chapters and stuff. And no I’m not rushing the devs or anything like that, I’m just saying how I felt on the recent reveals of certain killers. Sorry for the confusion everyone!

Blight had like 2 years of hype, and Twins for sure had a teaser before it was actually announced, remember people thinking it's a Wendigo?

As people used to think that Blight was a Werewolf, Vigo or Benedict Baker.

They do hype ot up unless it's a licensed killer because they have to keep quiet about it

They hype when there are new Killer and Survivor because there are sales associated with them, when its an upgrade to the game with nothing to sell they dont usually make a big fuss about it.

I get that but like comparing the last couple of killers to let’s say Oni, pretty big difference with presentation and stuff.

True, I forgot that he was in the tomes and a main part of the story, but for the twins I still think it was a bit odd how they did it

There was a bit of hype,when people thought it was the Wendigo,and Mathieu Cote had a little hype behind him, because he said he saw the new chapter and it was going to be crazy,The Twins were recieved for a week, until people realized the playstyle of them.

Guess I missed all that hype, my bad on that! I don’t think they released a full trailer for them until after the reveal? I might be wrong about that to but yea, idk I just prefer the trailer before the ptb just so there’s time to speculate powers and perks and stuff which is fun.

I don't think it was Mathieu that had the hype behind him. Mathieu is the director, wasn't it some streamer?
I was really hyped listening to him, but tbh The Twins kinda fell short of my expectations. Sure the power is unique, but the patch was buggy, there was no new map or anything special connected to it.
I hope the next chapter is a licensed one, because I enjoy going against famous horror icons much more. And we've had two originals rn.

Jesus Christ, the mid chapter patch isn't even out yet. The devs usually show teasers like a week or 2 before the chapter PTB (which should be coming out in about 6-7 weeks) just give them some time.

Is very hard to hype a midchapter which consists in some graphical updates, animation updates, perk tweaks and bug fixes. I dont know how can they make it sound awesome and rile people expectations up. Saying "this new animations are superdope you are going to love them!!" or "new The Game map is so crazy guys, its gonna be great, brace yourselves!!" wont entice people as much as showing a new Killer with powers and perks.
Also the last chapters have been a bit of a massive dissapointement with the sheer amount of bugs and unplayability they introduced so I believe a lot of people are more afraid of the patch than expectating, Im one of the afraid group, lets see how many new bugs they introduce this time though the fact it has no new Killer gives me some hope of a stable and somewhat enjoyable patch release.

Yeah he was on that streamers channel,Dreamhacker or hacks.
That's understandable, and these characters are from the games lore so you would expect a little more.
Their probably swamped tho. We only know a small fractions when it comes to actual business and work, they have to create a whole other realm (map) which probably isn't as easy as we think.Also we don't know what type of deadlines they have.They don't own behaviour there only employed their.

I think the real problem with the twins misisng out on the hype is less about intent change, and more about the pandemic affecting the fanbase and the staff's ability to work
