Legion
Why have the devs given up on Legion? The community has offered multiple ways to reword or change the Legion. Instead of reworking their add ons to fit the new timer the devs just nerfed them. No one will ever look at stab wound study and decide “yeah let’s use this garbage add on the just hurts my power.” It honestly sucks cause I really liked Legion but they’re just not viable anymore.

I main them, they're definitely "viable". I still wish they could get an add-on pass and some QoL changes though.

Yeah, Legion's in a decent spot. Their addons could use a bit of love and their basekit could use some number changes though. We need 3s fatigue and the ability to use Frenzy at 10% again.

All I think legion needs is some tweaks to make him more reliable.
Everyone spawning on separate gens on shelter woods or mother's dwelling or something meaning your entire early game is just....not happening...is a bit of a problem.
Other than that I think he's fine.

To be fair, every single map update has been buffing Legion (and every other m1 killer).

As long as Legion is in a place where survivors don't DC the second they see the deep wound status anywhere on their hud, I don't think they are going to be changed. I think BHVR doesn't want to risk another incident similar to what happened back in 2018.
Or they're just relying on stats to make balance decisions, as always.

i dont think Legion is in such a bad spot tbh.
they are definitely not top tier (not even close), but they are still a viable killer choice.
if i had to change sthg on them, i'd make the brown recharge rate extension add on and duration extension add on basekit, remove the power penality you get for hitting a normal attack and make missing a frenzy attack no longer deplete your frenzy bar (still kicks you out of frenzy tho). and maybe have the fatigue reduced to 3 seconds instead of 4.
small number buffs and a reduction of the penalities they have is really all they need imo.

So, here's the thing.
Legion is not at the bottom of the Killer tier list. Not at all. That said, Legion is basically high D, sometimes capable of performing at low C when the right conditions are met. They are JUST SHY of going from "Dingus" to "Completely Average". On top of this, most Legion mains (myself included) aren't asking for major buffs anymore. They simply aren't happening. Too many people seem to think that keeping Legion at high D tier is good, so whatever. Now we just want small tweaks. HOWEVER...
They worked really hard at making Legion bordering below "Average" and you're going to like it.
Being a touch more serious (but only a touch, good or bad pending), some employees of BHVR have expressed that minor changes such as a reduction in Fatigue and NOT losing half their Power every time they M1 normally could very well be beneficial. Those two things make up the majority of what most Legion players really want anymore. Would it buff Legion a bit? Ya. Would it be nice to not be punished for passing out free lung piercings and playing the Killer correctly? Ya again.
I think the only thing holding anyone back is a few hot takes from certain devs that insist everything is fine, and Legions history where they were still not very good but also EXTREMELY frustrating to play against due to exploited mechanics of the time. To this day, there are people that hate Legion more than Twins (I seriously fail to see how that is possible) on account of their history and not how they currently function.
Also, Deep Wounds is butt poop fart balls M1 simulator and needs a replacement mechanic that is more engaging and threatening.

I think it has to do with the fact that Legion is mostly fine. They have some weirdness with losing their power bar that probably needs to get changed and some addons that need work... but they're mostly fine.
Clown, Trapper, and Wraith all needed help more urgently so I don't feel bad at all that they got attention this midchapter patch over Legion.

I wouldn't mind Legion getting some buffs, but I think he's a pretty good killer at the moment. I main him and play in red ranks.

If those stats are to be believed, that is.

Can someone explain what was legion like in the past and what made them need changing? Also whats wrong with him now that make him bad.

I had some ideas for Legion, let me know what you think!
Implement a token system based on Feral Frenzy hits:
- For each Survivor hit during a single activation of Feral Frenzy, gain a token. All tokens are consumed when Feral Frenzy ends, granting the appropriate benefit(s) listed below. Token buffs do not stack, you gain only the benefit(s) listed for each tier/token amount gained/consumed.
- With 2 tokens gained, you'll suffer a greatly reduced stun when Feral Frenzy ends
- With 3 tokens gained, you'll suffer a regular stun, but Feral Frenzy is refreshed and immediately ready for use when it ends.
- With 4 tokens gained, Feral Frenzy becomes Fatal Frenzy, refreshed to full power - For the remainder of the power, Frenzy hits on Survivors can put them into the dying state. Tokens will not be gained during Fatal Frenzy, and the power duration will not be refreshed on any hits.
Notes about Fatal Frenzy: A Fatal Frenzy hit on an injured Survivor puts them in the dying state. A Fatal Frenzy hit on a healthy Survivor injures them like normal, but The Legion can then follow up with another hit to down them if the Power is still active.
My thoughts on this are as follows:
Fatal Frenzy probably seems OP - allowing Legion to sprint around and now able to down Survivors with Frenzy hits? Crazy, right? Remember though, to even get into Fatal Frenzy mode, you'll have to have nailed all 4 Survivors during Feral Frenzy...not an easy task unless the whole team is nearby, which in my experience, isn't often. So, Fatal Frenzy isn't something I'd expect to be utilized much, but it is an appropriate reward if someone can pull it off and/or an appropriate punishment if the Survivor team doesn't scatter. Plus, you only get one shot at it - the power does not refresh on hits in this state.
That said, the 2 and 3 token buffs will be reached far more often, and, imo, aren't over the top but rather satisfy the more common requests for legion - shortened stun, and faster power refill (in the case of the 3 token buff, an instant power refresh)
Too much? Too OP? No enough?

I didn't experience first hand, but... there were two major things that were wrong with them.
For a while, instead of Deep Wound timer pausing if you were running, it would pause if you were in Chase. So one... fun bit of shenanigans was Legion players running Bloodhound, Frenzy stabbing someone, then moonwalking at them which would break chase and Deep Wound would tick down but since Legion was still after them, they couldn't stop to mend or they'd get M1'd and go down.
The other thing was that Legion used to only need like 15% of their power bar to start Frenzy and they could reduce Deep Wound timers by Frenzy Stabbing with their base kit. This meant Legion could just... keep following, popping Frenzy, Stab, Cool down, recharge, repeat. Since Legion was 5.28 M/S and could fast vault in Frenzy, the Survivor couldn't really do anything about it.
Neither of these tactics were particularly strong since they took so long to down but they were 100% guaranteed downs, which wasn't good.

The people who lose to Legion must have made it easy mode af for him. Put the best Legion against the best survivors and the survivors will come out on top every time. It's why nobody plays this garbage killer in tournaments. He has way too much counterplay, most of which consists of holding forward.
