The Blight - Countering loops?
Hello guys!
I'm a new Blight main, and would love to hear your blight specific ways to counter the common loops! Let me hear them!

Here's a couple I can remember off the top of my head.
First one is the non long walled variation of a jungle gym. You must bait the survivor into going though the window. When you hear they have, you rush to the wall behind the window and catch them.
Second one is that loop that appears a lot on farm maps. Usually there is another tile adjacent to it, so you bait the survivor into going for the loop and then you use the adjacent tile to rush to them.
First shack is a variant with a tree on the corner. You bait the survivor into going through the window and when you hear they did it, you rush to the tree. They'll likely Try to go back through the window so you must be ready to flick so you can catch them.
Second is another variant of the shack. If the survivor is too far from you and goes into shack, you can rush to the doorway, wait a second to see where they went and then lethal rush and catch them.
I think Scott Jund has a good guide on Blight with tips you can use.

If you're on console, forget it.

Play around with his lunge it has no collision so it wouldn't bump into walls. You can get some nasty hits with it as you slide around objects.

*sad console player noises*

learn 180 degree flicks.

Practice. The only loops that can't be played are short loops, but even so those are tiles that Blight can play as an m1 killer.

He can. Don't be limit by " you can't use power in short loop " without even try.

I maimed blight on PS4. I couldn’t get hits that PC players could by curving around objects because of low FPS, low sensitivity and controller. It’s hard but it’s doable just like the nurse. I’m now on PC and it’s way easier. PC blight almost feels like console blight with turn rate addons.

It's a physical gameplay limitation, Blight cannot turn fast enough to swing around short loops.
0 -
You don't even need to turn that much if you do it correctly. He can flick much more than 90° btw if you don't know.

First of all, I'm a Blight main. Second, I have never, ever one been hit by a Blight while at a small loop without me having screwed up because he CANNOT FLICK.
Blight doesn't have a flick. Oni has a flick. Blight has a turn. He can turn about 180 degrees. His turning radius, however, is rather bigger than the size of most junk tile corners, which is what makes it not a flick.

Blight can flick 180 degrees. Turn up your dpi.

Then you don't deserve to be the Blight main. If someone can do then Blight can do. Go watch AscensionWho twitch (#1 Blight on leaderboard so far) I'm lazy to argue with you. You will see how the real Blight is played.
And yeah I am the Blight main too. 6.8 k total lethal rush hit isn't just a number.

I don't care who you are, Blight physically cannot instantly turn. There is a curve to it that was deliberately placed there by the developers to prevent him from being Oni but god mode. Unless you are trying to claim that Blight and Oni have the same instantaneous turning, Blight doesn't have a flick.
And once more, you cannot hit someone around a small loop unless they royally screw up. All they have to do is stay on the other side and you cannot rush around it fast enough because the turning radius is just a little bit too big.

Then don't be surprised if someone can do that.
I will leave you with some juicy flick from other Blight main.

That looks like a straight up exploit, not a feature. I can tell you right now that I have never before seen that. If I were you, I would report it.
0 -
Yeah, that is literally an exploit, I just replicated it a couple of times. It can only be achieved at max sensitivity, which I don't play at. Definitely not intended gameplay, definitely exploiting.
1 -
It's not an exploit. There is a clip where McLean explain it but i can't find the clip.
It can do by instantly hard flicking the mouse at the start of attack. It's easier with high dpi.

I'm sorry, but if it's something you have to mess around with settings for and isn't available to everyone, it's an exploit. I'm certainly never going to use it because it's overtly unfair - the only counter to Blight is being able to run around junk. This takes that away. And it really, really is an exploit. Just because a developer bragged about it doesn't make it false, or console players would be able to pull if off.
1 -
You don't really need to mess with settings, you can achieve a close effect to this by just breaking your wrist while you launch your mouse across the table, high dpi is just a more reasonable alternative. I am curious though if the devs consider this an exploit or not, since there are still counters to this if the survivors realize you can do those kinds of flicks, like running away from the loop as soon as they are out of LoS.

That 180 flick really isn't a bug?Because that looks 100% like not intended gameplay (like nurse being able to look up during fatigue etc). Not that i think it should go or anything
Also, just things like that make me even more sad as a console player.I really love blight but the difference between console and pc is incredibly big.Even Nurse is much better to play on console than blight.Hope the will look into that someday :(

For a split second as you begin your lunge, Blight's turn restriction doesn't apply. With a high DPI you can spin around before the lunge is locked.
For reference, I just found out about this, replicated it, used I, and am 100% confident that it is an exploit. For further reference, having never used it before I 4k nearly every game and only lose to actual genrushing, ridiculous 16-stack second chances, or my own dumb mistakes. This dumb exploit is not needed and is not what makes Blight strong. I'm never using it again. You don't need it. Blight is insanely strong without it, to the point of being third only to Nurse and Spirit.

With a high DPI you can spin around before the lunge is locked.
My sensitivity is on 100 and even then i can turn maybe like 30-45 degrees with my lunge

@MadLordJack don't forget to try to find a way to use rush in short loop. It's doesn't need flick.
0 -
Yeah, because it's an exploit that you can only achieve with a high DPI. Controller sensitivity isn't high enough at base. I genuinely can it stress enough that it is an exploit - it was clearly not intended and you have to mess around with outside settings.
1 -
Yes he can

Not very optimistic advice. Reading this as a blight main on console, he's not THAT hard.

To the one person answering my question, thank you! You're a genius!
