Never was funny. Also isn't changing back, as the devs have said it's essential for the MMR system, whenever it is ready.

They kept this in so once they turn the MMR back on, it doesn't require a full in game update, otherwise it'd require a game update.

Honestly, how difficult would it be to switch killer profiles with killer and lock in the profile during game loading instead of locking in the profile on lobby creation?

The whole point of it locking prior to the point you suggested is down to MMR, when the game is searching for a lobby it will match you with people around the same MMR score - otherwise you'd have people using their lower MMR killers to get lower MMR survivors and then switching to their high MMR'd killer, which is unfair. That's why it's done on lobby creation.

Even switching between killers with similar rankings would be good enough. If I main huntress and bubba and have them close in rating I should be able to switch back and forth without any issue. Not that I know how it's been programmed but I doubt the MMR system has that many more categories than the ranking system, maybe 2 or 3 times for precision
