From a Colorblind Player - Thank you
As someone who's been vying for this for absolute ages...I'm extremely happy on the whole. Admittedly the filters aren't quite what I would like over customization of the auras and scratchmarks myself (bright blue would be far easier to see overall for me), but I'm certainly willing to take what they're giving. I'll unfortunately need to decide between the two types of colorblindness I have though...I like the protanope auras more but the deuteranope scratchmarks more on the WIP images...
Still, _thank you_ BHVR for addressing the colorblind part of your community. Especially with the incoming HUD, the overuse of red for critical information was going to kill the game for me, since injured survivors flashing red was almost impossible for me to see. I am over the moon that this feature is coming and cannot thank you enough. I only wish it hadn't taken four and a half years to get it.

I was trying to remember who on the forums it was that I knew for sure was colorblind just a bit ago. I'm glad the ones they've done so far are helpful. Hopefully they'll improve them even more before release.

I think, if they haven't already, they should get a colorblind focus group together. If they want to do it right that'd be great way, especially for someone like you that'd need to choose between two different types.

it's nice they actually said.
They said they didn't originally plan to because they don't have a solid release date and tbh it really shows the transparency problem.
There is nothing wrong with saying "We are working on it, but we do not know when it will be completed at this time" boom. Done. Instantly problem solved.
Not, dead silence for several years, and then an unofficial comment like "....If it gets done it'll get done when we'll, when we have time to do it, or if somebody decides that it's something should- that should be done..." and then literally banning/locking any mention of their handling of it.
That is an example of how not to handle it.
So idk, I just hope they learned something from this that would be enough. That's all I want, behaviour to start communicating.

I think the last time they did this was with Console Optimization back in March of 2019.
It's been pretty much MIA ever since.

Please remember it's still a WIP - as you know I'm colourblind myself so you can rest assured the feedback is going through

While it is nice to have someone say something i doubt they'll do better in the future. I even wonder if someone noteworthy didn't bring this issue up how long would it have been before we saw an official twitter post or something mentioning these changes.

Honestly I've had this discussion before, most of their problems could be solved by an active community manager that acts as a liaison between the developers. Not just someone who posts news threads and patch notes....
That would solve so many of their issues, but for some reason I don't know if it's bad corporate decisions or what they would never allow that; they wouldn't give that person the information necessary to do their job.
I don't know though, things have always been difficult with BHVR on the communication front; they'll say something like that is what the devs streams are for, and to a small tiny bit they are; but so much more can be done and much easier too- people don't need THAT much information to be satisfied.
We'll see I guess. Maybe some day.

Its just that there are so many avenues for them to be more vocal about what they have planned. I'm never asking for specific details but just give me something to look forward to.

You would have been the only one to know that; which is the unfortunate problem.

I am assuming there was a tweet/announcement or something I missed? Someone got a link?

Absolutely - I put a more focused feedback thread in the proper channel about it as well but I 100% understand it's a WIP. All I can say is this is the most excited about a change to DbD I've been, full stop.

@LordRegal Thank you, I'll make sure to check out your thread tomorrow! And I am so happy that you're excited about this, me too!
