Fair, this was fair, I had a chance, I swear.
Before you mention ruin undying, because I swear every survivor is pretty much a carbon copy of eachother:
Perks mean nothing especially things like ruin undying when you are completely outmatched, how is a begginer nurse like me supposed to win? I only got a kill because she was being overly confident and wasted her DS before I caught her out.

As a former nurse main, I would not even bother to learn her. Takes too long and there’s too many buggy objects to deal with. She’s annoying to play at this point. Just slap on spirit/hag and call it a day.

That matchmaking is literally working as intended, OoO is a bit much though I'll give you that.
But another thing is you can't expect people at high ranks to give you a chance because you're new to a certain killer, they have no way of knowing that, especially when you're running good perks on her. If anything, this just illustrates that the devs need to change matchmaking in some way to reflect your performance on all killers.
11 -
They are console plebs so the real rank is around green/purple.😉
It's not unusual to get red ranks when you yourself are purple.
2 -
I don't think purple rank killers should be facing rank 1 survivors, so that's awful matchmaking imo. You should specially not be facing rank 1 survivors if you're playing a killer you're "new" at, but current matchmaking doesn't take that kind of thing into account. We can only hope future MMR system fixes this mess a bit...
There's also an OoO there which makes things even worse lmao. But I guess it's not broken because "survivors who run it don't escape more often than survivors who don't" am I right??? :)

before this I had matches where I actually had fair matches, The problem is inconsistency not having to learn the hard way.
I do agree to an extyent you have to learn the hard way but I should NOT under any circumstances go against people on the high reds as a low purple, if I actually went against purples I would naturally go to red ranks, while learning in purples, it makes it so clear DBD over compensates for mm and doesn't even trust there own games ranking mechanics so much that they just boost every killer with a drop of strength all the way to red ranks

How is it working as intended?
1 -
Because you were within 6 ranks of all survivors
5 -
I don't think that's a fair, Should A rank 20, a rank 14 and a rank 8 all be in one game? By what you said that is mm working as intended
There's a massive difference between a rank 7 and a rank 1, in fact, you cannot measure it, a rank 1 is the max rank, it doesn't actually measure overall skill (like with all ranks, but in a hypothetical scenario where ranking actually works and measures skill) it just proves that -hypothetically- you have surpassed a skill level.
that survivor could be a fresh rank 1, or the only person worth of rank -20,
also, within 6 ranks? Really? that over 1/4 of the matchmaking rank spectrum.
I think everybody at bare minimum should be within 3 ranks, because a fresh purple can currently go up against a rank 2. what is esentially a slightly skilled green is now going aginst rank 2's and rank 1's and it's just common sense that that is a significant skill gap.
2 -
Yeah but the problem is that's a meme, while there is some truth they still have more game knowledge than any green will ever have, sure they're les mechanically adept, but don't underestimate them, they can still destroy people who don't have as much game knowledge.
1 -
Well seeing how the score looks it seems as if you focused one survivor majority of the match , one survivor only has 7,000 points on a match that 3 escaped, post a video so we can make a fair judgement please.

MM is fine here. Your just new to nurse
0 -
I don't record my gameplay. I will though so if this happens again I can give you one, the end story is she got unintentionally sandbagged, wasted a DS and then I just hooked her again, I suppose she will learn to not loop with friends next time.
0 -
how is it good mm were 6 ranks apart?
that over 1/4 of the mm spectrum
0 -
Oh, I didn't notice they were playing Nurse. Don't play with addons when learning Nurse. Get used to losing, regardless of what rank you are up against.
7 -
Ok, I'll try learning without addons, thank you for the tip.
I made this post because I was salty and felt cheated - which I still do - but it just sucks going against the best players when I'm not close to their rank or skill level.
2 -
I mean, you said it yourself, a begginer nurse is NOT supposed to win. Just git gud an eventually you will get 4k in 5 minutes. Just take the Ls and don't let those games get into your head, you will get there some day and there will be no looking back.
1 -
In this case all players were within six ranks, though. Should a rank 14 and a rank 8 be in the same game? Sure, why not? Rank only correlates with better play, so when you're just a few ranks away it's really not a big deal.
Like, I'm probably a rank 5 survivor right now just because I have barely played since rank reset even though I'm typically rank 1. Ranks are just a really inexact measure of skill.
3 -
are you trolling? You do not calculate overall difference between the lowest number overall you do the highest.
But being red rank does make you massively better than a new purple.
Also I have never said I'm not a good nurse, I'm not salty because I think they're cheating or ######### - I'm mad because MM ######### me like I was bent over and chained up, the MM was not good, also rank is not a measure of skill, and in reality these guys were good but I wasn't, the disparity in skill level was even worse than the disparity in ranks, The MM was bad because it failed to measure skill and even then failed to find fair opponents for me to face based on it's flawed idea of my skill.
You seem to think that I'm being entitled and bratty when I literally just want a suitable enviroment for me to learn a character I admit to being bad at.
The game has failed to allow me to become better and that is my real gripe, I feel like I'm unable to progress due to the way the MM works.
TLDR; I want to be better cuz I'm bad but I am unable to bc of bad MM.

Working as intended.
0 -
Looks like you had more than just a chance, judging by how many points the survivors got.
0 -
I don't think you understand that a "few ranks" is actually 30% of the spectrum of ranking this game provides.
This inexact measure of skill is true but it's made so much worse by the fact you aren't even paired with people around your inaccurate level of skill.
Why do you think so many people just quit this game after a few matches? They get paired with good players cuz MM is hot ######### trash and then it's the most unfun thing in the world.
MM IS the biggest problem in this game. It makes every game a roulette of fun, boring or rage inducingly unfair.
I suppose for red ranks it's not at all a problem, you are considerably less likely to get stomped and tbagged and fl clicked for eons on end but right now MM is just hot trash for anything but red ranks who are good and know how to play against everything.

I would like you to explain away how in ######### name points at all corralate to gameplay opportunity, chance and overall ability to perform.
0 -
How?
0 -
If they had genrushed, they would have maybe 10-13k points. The only way they could have gotten as many as they did is if they were actively participating in the trial via chases and altruism to fill up those two catagories as well.
1 -
You, a purple rank, don't think you can take on reds? How sad
1 -
I mean, for a start they cleansed multiple hex totems (3-4), They used DS multiple times, they each got 5K+ for escapes and obsession escaped points, They also worked on gens together a lot, they didn't heal an awful lot.
also I think the 10-13k is a bit misleading by a couple thousand
0 -
Suprisingly, no I think I can, I don't think I can do it when it's a full red party with a killer I'm not good with on a map that heavily features the one counter of lack of LOS on it.
Also, dude, who pissed in your coffee this morning?
0 -
You're complaining about something completely normal
You being unprepared is your fault
1 -
They had 2 DS's, the hex totems and 5k escape points I already took into account, and you were Nurse with Ruin/Undying. And yes, 10-13k is very, very misleading, but I wanted to be generous and not point out that the actual number is closer to about 8k.
You were a Ruin/Undying Nurse that three of them got 20k+ points against. Only one of them had DS. If we give everyone 1500 from a hex totem, and 5k for an escape, that's still 14-19k points.
1 -
Replace the red 4 with a grey 18 and I already got the same group as a rank14 killer. What I want to say is: "someone is always worse off"
0 -
Just an example.
And not only they were way higher ranks, no, they were all playing together and always clicky clicky and bodyblocking me on hook and stuff. So, what is fair now?
And I get groups like this 90% every evening I play as a killer.
2 -
If they cleansed 4 totems and worked in the same gen without Prove Thyself and/or Toolboxes they werent genrushing.
They clearly did secondary objectives and went for gens in the slowest way possible (3 Survivors fixing 3 gens while working together is much slower than 3 Survivors fixing 3 gens each working alone).
1 -
I do agree the matchmaking is a problem, especially at low rank. Hopefully MMR saves the day!
0 -
The only thing that changes from green to purple ranks is 1-2 red ranks to 4, if you want to play people of your actual skill level I reccomend playing in the afternoon if you're lucky to have it free or the morning if you're very lucky.
I expect nothing fromm MMR except a reason to take a hiatus from DBD but hey maybe, by the will of every and all god(s) existence, it will actually work.
0 -
Yeah I agree, but refusing to feed a hungry child because a child is starving somewhere isn't gonna help.
0 -
in any other game I would not go against people 30% higher on the skill spectrum than me
when you reach 30% it kinda becomes irrelevant to say "other games are other games"
by your logic it would also be ok for a first game on any character nurse to go against 4 confident loopers at rank 14.
Just because it's been normalized doesn't make it "good"

I hadn't played nurse since her "rework" but had a daily that I needed to get done. Oh boy. I kept wondering why my blinks weren't working and was like "oh yeah, only one recharged so far." I think I will just put her back on the shelf for a while....

Or Freddy if you want to go on autopilot and still 4K
