Most fun M1 killers?

I'm relatively inexperienced in this game, but so far I'm finding that I prefer the killers that rely on basic attacks. Might just be because I suck at the game, but for most killers I've tried, I find I do better if I don't use their power, or use it for specific reasons. For example, I've been playing trying Oni because I think his character design is awesome, but I'm completely trash with downing anyone with his power. A lot of times when I use his power I actually miss all the attacks which gives survivors more time to get away than if I had just M1ed. Same thing happened back when I tried clown. The bottle either wouldn't hit or more likely just seemed to have little effect while I slowed myself down to throw it.

I use Oni's power basically to traverse the map so that I can m1 and check hooks at this point. It also makes people afraid to go for saves and funnels them into the desired area. I've been considering Myers, Legion, or Ghostface since I'm better when M1 attacking, but I'm willing to consider others. I'm still going to keep practicing Oni, but am looking for someone else to play to break up the monotony. Who do you all consider to be a fun basic attacker? I'm on PS5 by the way since I know some killers can be a nightmare on controller.

I really like Myers and Wraith. Ghostface doesn’t really get any fun addons to use. Same story with legion. The addons don’t change anything about how they are going to play.

Myers is the go big or go home type, turning into one of the strongest killers in tier 3. Wraith is mostly hit and run, but definitely is a ton of fun with good addons. Both of them can equip game sanctioned wall hacks.

A great starting killer would be Wraith. His power is super simple and is honestly very fun to use. He can teach you a lot about the basics of killer without putting you in any bad habits that will hurt you in the long run.

Wraith was the first killer I’ve learned and he’s honestly been tremendous help for me when I was new. I still play him regularly because like I said, he’s very fun.

I like Trapper for M1. As a great killer content creator, Otzdarva, recently said "A bad trap is better than no trap." As long as you can learn where to place a few traps that almost always guarantee a catch and learn how to use traps in chases you get some great value from him. He loses some viability at high ranks since survivors get smarter at recognizing common trap locations but he's a solid killer at low ranks.

Another great M1 killer, imo, is the Pig. As long as you can get some downs you have a built in slowdown mechanic with the RBTs and some creative uses of her crouch in mindgaming loops. With her I almost never rely on stealth and dash attacks since her wind up for it takes forever and a day but utilizing her crouch strategically at a lot of loops helps result in hits/downs.

Legion and Pig are the most fun M1 Killers by far.

They have interesting mechanics and natural slowdown so they generally don't get gen rushed too hard.

Stuff like Wraith and Trapper are unironically the hardest Killers in the game because they have literally nothing to help them for new players. Their powers are near useless against good Survivors and you have to really rely on having the expensive DLC perks to use them at all.

legion, pig and clown are probably the funnest. If you classify billy and bubba as then i'd also reccomend those.

Trapper is hands down the most fun because your "range" of harm isn't just within your arms reach. What I mean is that if a survivor sees you and calls you out as most M1 killers, you can't really down a survivor without a huge time investment. Trapper circumvents the weakness of being pure M1 by sabotaging the map. Very satisfying.

I'm been on a Ghostface kick lately, grinding him up to rank 1 again after the reset. I really love his ability to drop his terror radius, as well as sort of use his stalk as a ranged chase mechanic.

Probably legion, cause they allow you to spend most of the match duration actively chasing survivors (more interaction => more fun).

Wraith is rather beginner-friendly and you already have this killer, so giving him a shot won't hurt.

Love wraith honestly wish more people played him. His new buff on the ptb seems helpful too

Clown is the most fun m1 in my opinion. If you learn bottle placements. You will end chases extremely quickly there won't be much they can actually do about it.

I like Hag. Essentially everywhere at once, but all attacks are m1. As a result, she benefits greatly from perks with the “on basic attack” requirement.

Doctor is a lot of fun, especially if you're like me and you suck at keeping track of survivors. Plus his rework made shocking survivors to prevent them from Vaulting/Pallet-Dropping actually viable.

Only problem is you'll probably get hate sent your way because he's really annoying to play against.

I really struggled with most killers when I first started out with the game until I got the clown and I started being able to catch survivors and do well. I know he is deemed one of the weaker killers and he will only get you so far unless you want to put a lot of time into him, however I think he is a really great killer for newer players to learn the basics and then move onto a more complex killer.

I love Wraith. I might get worked over by competent survivors, but the majority of the time I have a blast with him.

Trapper, I love playing with him as a killer from M1, especially setting hidden traps in the grass.

Definitely Myers. He is a lot of fun and very versatile with builds and play styles. Scratched mirror is a blast.

Thank you all for your input and suggestions. I've been playing more Clown lately, and now that I've gotten much better control over his bottles, I'm having a good amount of fun with him. His one on one chase kind of style fits me really well. I'll probably purchase the Myers dlc and one other to try out until there's another sale on the dlc.

These two are definitely high on my list. Being able to track and injure survivors constantly with Legion sounds like a lot of fun. I have a question, though. Is it difficult to aim his hits while dashing? The problem I have with Oni is that the camera goes crazy while trying to do his dash one hit down, and I haven't gotten used to it yet. I'm really good with controlling the dash itself, I just can't hit people consistently.

As a Legion main, aiming frenzy hits can be hard at first. After a couple of games though, you'll get used to it. In my opinion he's easier to aim with than Oni.

With Legion, unlike Oni, you can get right up to a Survivor before triggering Frenzy and there's no pause as you trigger it, it's a run faster M1 that cannot down Survivors.

I'd say Legion. His power is basically a glorified M1 ability, except he runs faster and can vault things and can't down injured survivors (within his ability, of course). For a new player, I'd say he's a good choice. Hitting other survivors with his 'ability' will show other close(ish) survivor's via killer instinct, too.

As Legion is short you also have more potential to mindgame loops, like haystacks which killers such as Huntress are at a major disadvantage. Lastly, as you're admittedly new to the game a lot of low ranked survivors will waste a lot of time pointlessly healing against you and will be caught hiding in lockers as they probably do not understand the killer instinct mechanic. So that helps.

The thing with Trapper is that he is mostly a defensive Killer. Most other Killers are offensive. If you wanna learn how go properly chase as an M1 Killer I'd use someone else than Trapper.

Like many people say, there is nothing wrong in using Wraith, he is decent when played right and is a good starter Killer since he is free.

I think Wraith is the killer you're looking for. Easy to learn and understand. I think he can be quite fun as well. When I introduce new players to DBD Wraith is the first killer I put them on and it seems to help them pick things up quite easily and with little frustration.

Wraith and simply stealth killers in general I think are good for newer players that are still learning the basics.

After Wraith I'd probably recommend Myers.

I think you could go up on the fun metric with some other killers but I think these two are the best balance of fun and new player friendly.

Wraith is the ultimate in M1 technology. Also he's cute.

I do find Legion fun too though, you just sprint around and go stabstabstab

I’m sad with the fact that doc is getting almost no love here. He’s a great M1 in fact he’s the only killer I was able to get to red ranks with.

Definitely Legion. Frenzy is basically a M1 where you're faster and can vault really well but can't down and the Deep Wound usually gives you the time you need to get your bog standard M1 downs.

Also I very much disagree with Wraith being a fantastic M1 killer for beginners. The guy is very add on dependent and has some pretty terrible teachables.

It's more about his power being the most basic and easy to understand in the entire game.
