Was what I did wrong?

So I’m playing Pyramid Head. The match has progressed to one generator and the remaining three are close together. I hook a guy right in the middle of the three generators so I conclude it wouldn’t make sense for me to leave them all so I guarded the area. He reaches the second hook stage where the Enitiy tries to take him. Eventually his teammate comes up and I chase him far away. Eventually I ended up back at the area with the hooks and three generators just as another was helping him. The person helping him was full health so I went after him and got the quick final judgement so I can keep pressure on the generators. It helped turned the game in my favor and I eventually got three kills and was proud of myself for turning that game around,. But that guy I got final judgement on sent me a hate text afterwards telling me I’m “garbage” and I “tunneled and camped him”. What exactly was I supposed to do in the tense situation? I’m trying to win the match. And arguably his teammates should’ve been faster to help him and protect him,

Your post basically boils down to, A stranger told me what I did was wrong, Is it wrong?

Just ignore those messages or laugh at them. You are allowed to do everything you can to prevent survivors escaping, except for changing the game rules, hacking and exploiting unintentional bugs, which you should report on the bug section of this forum.

    Have fun in game.

It’s just if I had gone after the healthy survivor they probably would’ve gotten the last generator fixed. Like I said his hook was literally right between the three generators so there was nothing else for me to do and I let my self get distracted for a long time chasing another. It was his teams fault. I did what I had to do. He just needs to accept you lose matchs

You played pretty correctly. If you're losing and you are blessed with having a hooked survivor inside your 3gen, there is literally no gameplay reason why you would not play to guard your area.

Yeah I know, that’s why I said you didn’t do anything wrong

I guess technically it’s camping and tunneling but from what you said I don’t think it was wrong.

4v1 with a 3gen hold it makes sense to stay in the area with 3gens. It sucks to be that guy though, he essentially died on first hook. Hooked once, mori’d off the unhook, but I don’t think it’s your fault.

Ya I can understand getting angry over camping at the beginning. It’s actually a bad strategy cause the other survivors will just repair the generators and he’ll have the game ruined while barley getting a chance to have fun so there’s reason to do it unless you’re greifing. But in this case the game was in its last stage so I don’t feel bad. I’m not just gonna let them win. I’m new and I’m having a good time playing but I just wish this games community would relax a bit,

You did nothing wrong. Its no fun for the hooked person, but do you lose in other games so the other players have fun?

Camping is only a problem when its unnecessary or detrimental for your win. And about unnecessary you can argue.

Nope if someone is caught in your three gen you're completely fine to stay

You were totally in the right here. I've been in the situation before too. As a rule, I don't camp or tunnel, but protecting that 3 gen is your priority. And if they come into the area, even if it's to save the survivor. That's their issue, not yours. They should have been careful with the gens they were repairing. Yes it sucks for that one survivor, but he played most of the game. It's not like you did this with 5 gens left. The response to him should have been "well don't get hooked in a sweet 3-gen spot do to poor planning."

You tunneled and camped for the win. IN the middle of a 3 gen. This is on the survivors for 3 gening themselves.

This is when it is completely acceptable to do so. But , of course, your competitors probably won't appreciate it.

There's nothing wrong with what you've done that's called a 3 gen tactic and sometimes with m1 killers that don't have map pressure that can win you the game against good survivors , when I'm clown and I know the match is going downhill I'll find the four closest generators and protect them, nobody can touch them I'll smack and go making a few resources get wasted and end it if it can be attained quickly , even letting the other generators go not worrying about it because then it forces them to play my game and try and repair in my area that's contained well, and chances are by then they are already down one survivor.

“...he already played most of the game.”

Yup exactly. It’s not like he got tunneled to death from the start of the match. I think you did fine.

The point is to win the game within the rules. The other guy should implicitly understand that. And it's their fault they left 3 gens next to each other.

Yes, it's frustrating to think you are winning and then lose, but that's his fault.

    Yea. Never said otherwise.

If I've been left with a three gens strat and a hooked survivor in one area then I wouldn't have even chased anyone outside of that area. All your objectives are in one place why would you leave? Only someone who only plays survivor and isn't that experienced in the game would expect you to leave.

Sounds like a normal game of dbd to me.

Sounds like you already know the answer to your question and you just came on here to flame some survivors who got salty at the game.

You didn't do anything wrong, you know you didn't do anything wrong, don't give players like this any of your time and flood the forums with the same "survivor got mad because they lost" story, it's really not worth it.
