Why I get tunneled so often
There are two fundamental approaches to the game as Survivor
- Immerse and win slowly over time because the Killer wastes so much time looking for Survivors that they can't pressure everyone enough to stop the gens from eventually finishing.
- Aggressively focus on generators, split up and take chases because you're confident time is on your side and the Killer cannot get downs at a rate to keep up with your gen pressure.
I am not a stealth based Survivor player. So if I get immersed teammates, the Killer pretty much only finds me the entire game and usually decides to tunnel because they give up with all the stealth players. Sometimes I escape those games, sometimes I don't. But the fact that I tend to only play the aggressive playstyle means Killers tunnel me more often than most.
I could work on a stealth playstyle more. But I don't think my brain could process it. The Survivors that walk/crouch everywhere and wear boring outfits, might escape more games and get tunneled less. And I'm mostly fine with that because I like DBD to be interesting instead of residentsleeper
EDIT- how is this in polls lol. It's general discussion

Your problem is to look at those as separate playstyles. You have to know when to stealth and when to show yourself. Stealth if done correctly, can waste a ton of killers time and if done wrong can cost you a health state.
If your problem is getting tunneled, your best bets in Solo Queue are DS and Kindered. You can also try to play in times where queue times are shorter for somewhat better matchmaking.
Otherwise don't play too risky and work on your looping, most solo Queue games for good survivors go with you having to make the killer chase you the whole game because everyone else goes down instantly.
