Can you get banned for dcing
Someone told me you can get your account banned forever if you dc

I don't think you can. You'll get a longer and longer penalty for dcing, but not to the point of getting perma-banned.

No you can't get perma banned I think the max is either 24 hour or 48. I'm not sure never disconnected that much. If I was to have a bad enough match to dc or even just want to dc that's when I know it's time to play another game and leave dbd for the rest of the day so it wouldn't affect me anyway.

Imagine people getting actually banned for disconnecting in a game that crashes randomly and loses connection to servers for no reason, damn we wouldn't have many players

i dont know how the individual steps work specificly, however i am pretty sure that a perma ban from DCing is possible.
for that to happen, you would have to DC a LOT though.
the penality starts at a 5 minute ban (twice), then goes over to a 15 minute ban and constantly increases from that point onwards, until it bans you basically forever.
though you can also decrease your DC penality by one step again by playing 10 hours (i think) without DCing, so as long as you dont DC all the time for no good reason, you should be okay.
and in case of gamecrashes you can always contact the support team (you'll have to provide evidence that you got banned due to bugs though - and not just having the last DC be related to a bug, but a larger number of them) who can help you out.

If it's chronic and you have a history of very long dc queue penalties the devs will eventually permaban it iirc ... if you dc that much then stop and play a different game for a while. though it would take quite a lot to get you flagged that way. but eventually it is set up to flag your acc for review if it's literally a normal thing for you to do for a long period of time
