New Killer Idea - No Escape!

So, the idea I have is very simple, it’s a sci-fi killer that can place a device that creates an inescapable barrier of “XX” number of meters that can not be escaped from until the timer on the device hits 0 and it deactivates. I don’t know what that time should be, maybe 15-20 seconds, and the barrier should be square, and maybe 4-5 times the size of killer shack in a cube shape so that it isn’t just one dimensional.

Idea being that the killer can place the device, and then steer a survivor to his device, and then activate the trap.

what do youuuuuuuu think?
