Does MMR need bots to make fairer matches?
So lets assume MMR works. Now you search for a match, but there is no one with even skill. So obviously the mmr factors matchmaking time and creates an unfair match. Its better then no match.
But the only difference to now is that the game knows the match is unfair. You dont lose many ranking points for a crushing defeat, but you still get destroyed. For most this is no fun.
So do we need bots that the game can make more fair matches? (It would probably only work for weaker players)

You mean killer bots?
Oh yeah would be really fair.

When the bot would be closer to the skill level of the survivor then the killer which they normally get it would be more fair.
Or not?

Imagine human players not doing gens.
Imagine AI bots doing gens.
Impressive.

Yh obviously bots are better then some human player. What do you want to tell me with that?

I think if they do this then the bots should have to be ranked by the MMR system as if they were human. Then you would at least get bots the same level as you.
Maybe one day, one of the bots gets so good, it will break out and start streaming and creating YouTube videos. Maybe that has already happened.

I'd take bots, at least I know while I'm getting chased they will be doing gens lol

I don't think they ever are gonna add bots to the game..
But if they are then its gonna be to added to custom games. I don't think it would work in ranked games.

They added bots on DbD mobile. But they only appear when a player disconnects.
I think there are other games which have bots in public matches too. But you are probably right and bots will never be added.

I’m not a fan of a bot system.. I still think it would be better to have an option to potentially queue into games that had a disconnect and you gain bonus bps or something for joining late.
Dbd is pvp.. bots would suck the life out of the fun.
In private then sure, why not..

I wouldnt want bots either but theres a lot of players which are not good and dont want to be good. They need a killer/survivor which plays on their level.
It would be a good oppurtunity to let players learn the game without frustration.

I agree. You can't make a bot that is as smart as a person. One game I play is Total War: Warhammer 2. One thing that sucks about that game is the difficulty. If your winning Normal without much effort and you start to raise the difficulty. The AI doesn't play better. It just gets more cheats. Instead of managing their cities or armies more efficiently they just get boosts to their income, their stats, less rebellions. I seriously think the devs cannot make a killer bot that would be nearly as good as a person.
Let's face it. If they could they certainly would have done it already. instead of trying to find ways to convince us to come back and that they don't favor new survivors.

But isnt a weak bot enough? For all the player who dont want to bother learning the game? Then they have their easy wins.
I always read they dont want to get better and dbd is not competitive. Then a bot should be good enough for them.

DBD is competitive. Google the definition. It is not E sports but it is competitive. Bots are bad and they shouldn't be used in an MMR system. The devs love to nerf a killer because their precious stats say "They are over performing". A bot should not be compared to a killer controlled by a person.
Spirit is one of the best killers in the game. If you have a lot of spirit bots that are getting 0 kills on average do you think the devs should buff spirit? If we have a Legion bot that is somehow getting 3ks on average should we nerf Legion?

No. You dont understand. I said the people who are play dbd like a partygame probably doesnt care that its a bot. I would care. But i have 2000 hours in the game and i play to win.

It wouldnt hurt if they had like a unranked lobby with a bot killer to practice.

They have a literal mode where everyone else is bots. Survivors and killers. Called training mode on dbd mobile. Not just to help with disconnects.

As long as all the low level survivor bots hide in lockers and crouch everywhere and do nothing, I’m good with it.

The problem with a bot system is that it's easy to make a terrible bot or a super op bot but it's really hard to make a fair bot. Just imagine an aimbot Huntress or a survivor that can juke all killer swings.

The main thing with the MMR system is that no one will know what their "rank" is. So there will never be a way to prove a match was "unfair"
The ranks will all be reset to 20 every month and your number will only be an indicator of time. So a match with rainbow ranks won't actually give anything away anymore because there's nothing associated with the colors anymore.

U can still at least assume that anyone that makes it to red ranks within that month is probably good enough to get there or have absolutely no life.

This is how the animatrix started, people abused bots, bots rose up against the survivors

I doubt it. Since matchmaking will be separate from ranks, you won't necessarily get harder games the more you play.
Someone could be playing games at below average skill level while technically meeting the emblem requirements for a Rank 1 because the MMR matchmaking and old ranks are independent of eachother.
