That was the one calling killers "chickens" on a twitchs tream in 2016 when swf was coming out and that later told them if they were unhappy to go play civilization. Lmfao
"Dead by Daylight Developer Getting a Taste of His Own Medicine" is the YT video's title if that gets removed.
Then he was like (in a longer version of the whole interview) "Well I'm not the guy that handles the balance decisions" LUL

They do play it.
There are people that play it far more though, and have a lot of good views and ideas; and are quick to point out major issues or things that could be fixed- to which we usually hear from the devs later when they discover it themselves "oh I didn't know you could do that".
There is a divide, a lack of any communication; and a clear statement that they do not care not desire to have any such communication. The dev update streams; which are heavily curated, are the closest thing we have to any attempts at communication.

Wow I cannot possibly comprehend the seriousness of the situation. I wish we had evidence that the devs played their own game. Quick sidenote, in order for a dev team to release a patch they have to do something called "playtests". I don't know why I mention this at all, but in these playtests they have to try the new patch they made, themselves. But we have no evidence to support that, do we? Let's assume they use bots instead.

it does not mean every single one does it, it could turn out be a small handful that actually plays anything during 'testing' and most info they could wind up getting off of the public test server for all we know. Or most of them could be survivor mains, and the few that aren't, probably don't wanna get any schiff for bringing up issues to the rest. in 2021 I'd totally believe that

They do, with varying degree of skill. To be honest, I don´t think they need to no-life binge play it like so many of us do to have a general idea of how it should be balanced. These guys need to work on the game, after all.
That being said, they have a history of being notoriously stubborn to high level balance issues like swf, object, killer power disparity and general tile pacing.

Maybe one of them plays at red ranks, unless I'm thinking about a mod or someone different. The rest are straight-up rank 20s.

I follow and watch 2 of the devs stream dbd and I know there's more out there who do (including Almo, but I don't watch Almo).

I hate people who complain about every little thing but this is something to talk about, this game Is clearly unbalanced and it's been out for 4 years. Kinda thought this game would progress a bit more. Sure nicer graphics, more killers and survivors but nothing has changed mechanically. I talked to "MandyTalks" and she said she's playing the game for 4 years on red ranks, I guess she's not in charge then cause if I was, I would change some stuff.

They play the game, they're just not very good and they have no appetite for listening to the community or anything beyond what helps make the game more marketable.
It seems they're more interested in things that can easily be pointed out in a graph and be easily explained in a presentation to show their bosses, rather than nuanced topics that an executive will likely not be able to comprehend. One dimensional issues like X killer is killing too much, so we did Y and now kill rates are lower. Most of the budget also clearly goes to art and cosmetic design, rather than game design and balance.
They just really don't care much what the community thinks, which is why there is little communication from them and what little communication we do have isn't clear and concise, which points to them not caring enough to hire people who specialize in community relations or PR.
Fortunately, the game is losing thousands of players every month, so hopefully that will kick them into gear, but considering BHVR's past with other games, they probably will just fold because they don't have the right people in leadership positions.

Yeah they do play it, with Almo and McLean streaming it the most (Almo hasn't played it in while bcuz reasons) Not_Queen streams it weekly and Mathieu who idk when the last stream his was. People saying "they aren't in red ranks" are just outting themselves to let everyone know they haven't watched their streams. Just follow them on Twitch and make your own decisions whether or not you still want to support the game based on how they stream/play it.

No not really. I was playing MW but left that for warzone, I left warzone for dbd when cold war broke wz game. I will leave this game soon for another game.
Once I see a game is broke or proper dead, I do move on.

Maybe they get into a swf lobby at ranks with survivor 9,000 and see how they do in the game. Then come on and say such and such doesn't need nefing.
