Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

SWF pretending to be randoms

So I just met a decked out SWF team with 2 flashlighters who acted as the runners, a super stealthy gen jocky and a super stealthy sabo man. I don't need to tell you this, but they all escaped. I almost had a kill that would have given me the full pip at the end, but they used an exploit which I did not know about to get him out.
Anyways, that doesn't matter. What matters is that at the end they pretended to be complete randoms. Does anyone know why? I cannot think of anything they get out of pretending that they were so synchronized by chance. The only thing I could think of is that maybe the are hoping to verse a streamer and make the viewers worship them or some #########? Even then, it wouldn't work because I do not know anyone stupid enough to believe their wild story.
In fact, I could only think of a downside to them pretending to be solos, and that is that anyone who does believe them would immediately jump to the logical conclusion that all 4 of them are wall hacking, as that is the only way to know where everyone is at all times without voice comms.
Any thoughts? I have never had this happen before and it just struck me as odd. Were they perhaps actually randoms and just using wall hacks?

    Maybe they meant they're randoms as they're not significant.
    That's clearly the case in my eyes anyway : they're not significant, lol.

    You can see in lobby if they are SWF or not:
    Do they join at the same time => think twice whether you wanna verse that, dont forget that there are a lot of survivors out there waiting for a killer match, why not do them a favour and let them play and ignore the SWF cheaters

    @Master

    People join in waves, with latency, that’s not reliable, and doesn’t help much to distinguish the different players, as both solo and SWF will likely join suddenly.

    It works really well for me, even if they join 0.5 sec after each other, it susually a SWF
    If you actually have to wait for the next survivor, then its no SWF

    You can also check the profiles and check whether they have each other in friendslists (if they are on private profiles, then they are SWF almost every time)

    Jack is right. The rate at which they join is rather inconsistent. When i SWF with one of my friends i pop into a lobby and sometimes they pop in 3 or 4 seconds later. Its not a good way to tell. The only way to tell is like what you mentioned, check the steam profiles. Similar names and outfits are also a tell tale sign of SWF although most are smart not to do that as its a good way to dodgeville.
