Leaving Survivors On Hook Till Last Second

Contrary to popular belief leaving a survivor on hook until they are about to stage up to slam on gens is not a good strategy. That only works against camping killers since you will be getting more gens done before the inevitable trade, but against any killer who plays well and pressures gens you risk another person going on hook before the rescue and the whole team now having to stop doing gens. It's better to rescue the person in the first chance you get, maybe heal, and each go to a generator so you don't have the risk of 2 people going on a hook and you minimize the time that teammate was useless in the game.

But yes, if the killer is camping just do gens. Maybe trade in last second if you have BT.

There's also the chance that by unhooking quickly, it allows the killer to kill some1 faster and use pop more, even if nobody is farming and the killer isn't tunneling.

Do you know how rare to get a team in soloQ that is competent on gens as individuals?

Save, or do not save, but watching the killer facecamping is the worst thing you could do.

My mistake, going down under the hooked person is definately the worst scenario...and you can see that a lot.

Campers will camp until it pays off. Sadly, it still pays off.

One day they might stop when they get 1, max 2k per match.

Some killers will be still satisfied, no doubt...but first, you need to persuade the majority of the survivorbase to sit on gens.

    I agree on some level.

If you know you are about to finish a gen and the killer is running Pop and tend to tunnel, it's better to finish the gen so you don't get your gen popped twice for example ^^

I agree to an extent, but there are also times where you shouldn't leave survivors on hooks. For example if your gen has less than about 20 seconds left and you're relatively far away, finish the gen then go and save unless (you're hoping) someone else does before you. If your gen has 40 or more seconds left though, if no-one saves in the first 15-20 seconds you should start heading over because you dont want the survivor to take an unnesscary hook state.

Too many times have I been sitting on a hook watching one person get chased far away from both of the other survivors, but they both think someone is going to save so they stay on their gens - but don't leave enough time to come and actually get me before I get to stage 2.

For this reason its why I love running kindred. I always know when I need to save, and (usually) other survivors can figure out when they need to save me.

It's true to an extent, but it also depends on what stage of the hook they are on...if they are in first hook stage, I will usually have made a rescue before they reach 2nd phase, however, if they're already in 2nd phase on the hook, it's distinctly possible that I won't rescue until I've completed a gen especially if the killer has Pop for example. It's situational dependent on how many generators are left...it's often wiser to do the last gen whilst someone is on their 2nd hook phase and then unhook as they might also be running Adrenaline.
