what do you guys think about decisive strike change?

Killers won't stop complaining about it until it's rendered 100% useless.
As you can see they want it to deactivate on interacting with lockers lol
Y'all really just want to tunnel and have DS be totally useless huh
Personally I can't wait to see if picking yourself up with Unbreakable/Soul Guard counts as healing (It should, 1 health state) and deactivates it. If so DS Unbreakable is officially.. Not a thing anymore? Which would be huge.
I'm happy with these changes but killer mains need to chill. I know you want survivors to having literally everything nerfed to the point that they have a hard time but it's getting there. Will you still complain and argue for more nerfs even once keys get reworked and all the problem perks are addressed? (Probably)

yeh there really does need to be an anti tunnel perk like ds

you'll still get your 5 min gen bot matches, don't worry your little heart

Only the obsession's would have the ability to see the aura every 30 seconds, anyone else running it would only see the aura if BBQ kicked in
As for the DS change, a lot of people aren't liking it, sure for killers it sounds great. The only thing that worries me about it is that it's just going to cause a whole new set of problems.
I can already see it now. When someone is unhooked with the new DS they'll just do nothing for 60 seconds because they don't want to loose it. That will end up hurting the entire team. I think it's another change that they shouldn't have announced and just dropped. the games are going to be hell for the next little while with people getting the most out of it before the change.

Good for braindead or kids who love to tunnel for some personal reason.

I think the numbers should be reversed on Object. at object 1 every 30 seconds, and object 3 every 40.... though i think even 40 is too soon... dunno but the lower numbers in this case should be the rank 1 not rank 3. this would be great if it was a KILLER perk. though the view ONLY happens if you happen to be the obsession. kinda like what they did to allow multiple people to have DS in a match and not be penalized just because your were the obsession.

honestly I would accept that it stays active while inner strength heals you and then after you are healed ds drops. I agree locker tech shouldn't be there imho.

they accept this, but survivor mains continue to complain about bbq, and noed and everything... so you both are being hypocrites in your thought processes. Most killer mains are loving these ideas and accept them even with the fact some things happen. you survivor mains had NOED to contend without having a totem and complained, then when totems were introduced, noed was placed on a totem giving survivors a CHANCE to block NOED and now you're complaining that it's unfair because you can't find NOED's totem!!! or you can't be arsed to take 5 totems down AS A TEAM because it's all about get gens done, match done in 5 minutes and then you wait 10 minutes for another 5 minute match! WEEEEE that's fun!
Honestly killers are doing just what survivors do, they are saying they wish the nerf went further just like survivors still do about the now deathhook mori (I keep seeing survivor mains say "JUST TAKE MORI OUT!!!" it doesn't reward good play and keys require work) so yea you can complain all you want you are wrong killer mains are cheering if this actually hits live!

DS deactivates as soon as the survivor does anything to progress the game in favor of the survivors. Jumping in a locker does nothing in particular that affects how the game is going. It's just an annoyance. The survivor themselves are wasting time doing that.

I just commented in another post that I don’t use DS but this specific change of making DS deactivate after healing is a bit too much. Now my teammates will not want to get healed and they will not want to heal me too. As a solo queue survivor this scares me lol. I agree that we need details because this part is not clear.

I hate the change honestly, but I'm also not top tier in the ranks and play with 1 friend when I do play. I feel like decisive strike wasn't overpowered at all, and in some cases was just enough to make a small difference. Other times it just kept the chase going for one more tile then I died anyways.
I feel like if they're going to make this change they should at least make it a guaranteed hit. The skill check is too hard, and now it's adding conditions to activate on top of already limiting conditions. If it's going the way of meme perk it's the least they can do to make it a guarantee.

Wow, they are finally balancing one of the most busted perks in the game, and it only took them 4.3 years.

this alone , will bring me back to play the game again, i left when they start messing with billy, but this one is just too good to skip

It turns DS from "haha 60 sec no touch" into a proper anti-tunneling perk that punishes the killer for going after the same survivor.
Leaving in the locker DS, true, might be annoying to deal with, but honestly, I can work around that as a killer.

Maybe not all killers. I love playing Myers, and yet, I'm A-ok with this DS, even if it activated in lockers.
Horrible as a survivor, though. I do love killer, it would really help the psyche if they kept making changes like this.

When DS wouldnt run out when in a chase it would be great. still not a tunneling perk. mean the only purpose of DS "wasting time" is nearly gone.
still not a "anti tunnel" perk. focusing now on one survivor became easier since it was already very hard to get kills in a unbalanced Matchmaking, killer favored maps, dedicated servers etc
well done, nothing else i could say.

The real issue is that 90% of the community knowledge of the game is equal to zero and they have no idea on how the game works. Everyone was happy about ds nerf back in 2019 and only with time they discovered that it was even stronger than before. The avg player has no clue on how the game works and can't foresee anything. Power struggle and cameraderie were supposed to be problematic and new meta yet never seen anyone getting use out of those perks. Doctor rework was supposed to be a nerf yet we all know what it was, spirit was supposed to be weaker than billy (LMAO). So no sorry i'm not an hypocrite i always predicted perfectly how changes to the game would have affected the gameplay as a whole and i will keep saying: this ds nerf is a placebo and 2 days after the rework goes live killers will be back complaining about it as usual.
I will save this thread because i can't wait for the "told ya" moment

This change looking at it from both sides makes this perk more balanced, it weakens it yes.. and I never called the doctor rework a nerf, It balanced the doctor's abilities out. NO MORE was there a passive insanity build. IT became more powerful because they later came back and changed how much insanity was inflicted, but they reduced it's power by allowing survivors to snap out of it. Is there more to go to balance the doc or any other killer? YES. is the killer the "POWER" roll, when the survivors aren't working at their bests and doing things that benefit each other, YES the killer is. this DS rework removes invincibility and stops survivors from relying on this. if you aren't tunneled then this change isn't a problem. if you are then you need to not work on a gen just yet. they left locker tech in and that's a big contention that even I don't like but I'll accept it. I remember this DS change and when it came out I was barely into the game and I KNEW the change was powerful. it ramped things up and then they changed it even more by making it the only obsession perk that existed to randomize the obsession. so now the killer didn't know who it was that had it. you don't hear killer mains complaining about that anymore.... so you assertion that 90% of the community knowledge is equal to zero is very skewed. I would drop that percentage to 75% or so because you are correct many in the community don't examine how things work but in my experience if I were to take into account what I read here on the forums (a very much minority of all players) and those I know I'd say it's about 50% that don't know what is going on with the game. So I'll accept that there is about 75% of the community that can't be arsed to know how things really work.
killers and survivors will complain about anything, You will see those that will complain about what tech is left to the survivors with DS. that is locker tech, chest tech and DS/UB. which they are already continuing to make waves. they did not stop the interaction of UB/SG/NM that lets you get up if you get slugged but they did make the majority of the changes that most of the community I know which is a few fog whispers, dbd streamers, and friends and acquaintances have asked for for a long time now. IS there some fine tuning still to be done? yes but of all the reductions the killers have seen in the last 1.5 years is amazing and in that time survivors weren't truly touched or just a token touch was done. tool boxes didn't do much to change things till they tweeked the change they did to include 2.5 second sabo. Then they gave saboteur a cool down, just like in killer perks and survivors to this day cry about the cool down and how it's unfair yet that's very common for killer perks.

this change makes now difference to those who play the game specifically to use the perk. Ok so they mad it so you cannot progress the game or it will deactivate. that's ONE survivor out of three. I can guarantee that this perk will still be a "problem" to those who saw it as one already. I have been saying what you said since we learned about it

I told my nephew to buy the Halloween chapter for decisive strike, I'll be sure to tell him not to waste his money on it now. I've been playing DBD for years and as I'm always in red rank facing red rank killers, most the time the killers would win anyway. This only helps hook camping and tunnelling. I'm going to play as killer and tunnel everyone to put them off the game :)

I feel that with the change killers will risk eating a DS because so few survivors run it. I also feel that what survivors need is something basekit to discourage tunneling off of hook rather than relying on DS.
