Why on earth does Plaid Flannel exist?

Do people actually find this addon helpful?
I tried to use it a few times recently I never really bothered before- but I can't hit any blinks with this on because it's so distracting and it throws me way off the mark. Like, I would rather run padded jaws on trapper, or speed limiter on bubba than use this thing again haha.
It's not too hard to gauge a Nurse blink unless it bugs out; but this addon makes it so unreliable but some folks say it's helpful as can be. Maybe once you can blink with her without it using it is a hindrance? Idk.

I used it in my first few nurse matches. It's generally a nuisance, but nice in places with elevations and straight paths, AKA main building of the Ironworks.
The only application of it that I say is invaluable is to identify blockages and dead areas. Typically in new and reworked maps, the nurse can struggle with invisible obstacles, and that addon makes it so much easier to see them. Here's an example.
Every time a new map comes, I would recommend you to equip this and go testing.

Some people say it is a crutch perk that makes it harder to learn to blink as Nurse. Not sure if this is true because I always run it because I am a bad Nurse.

I suck with nurse but using that addon makes her literally unplayable levels of difficult. I don't get how people can focus with it.
Crutch my ass it's an absolute handicap haha. I am impressed more with people that CAN use this and actually play.

You could call it a training tool but any Nurse main will tell you not to bother.
The reason it was Very Rare before the addon pass is because the Devs believe it would be too strong. Isn't that a laugh?

It's only to help new people get used to the memory of her blinks like imagine huntress with a addon that showed the arc of the hatchet because the more you wind it up it changes same concept

If they really wanted to make it easier to learn her they could make an addon that stops making her like visually lurch forward farther than she actually moves. I would use that addon haha I keep falling just short because that throws me off:

It’s not helpful at all.
I feel the same about Maple Knight on Doc. It tells the player absolutely nothing. Worse still it doesn’t help with the donut add on either, which is exactly the type of ability a player needs help visually to know where the donut effect actually will land.

Donut was actually bugged before as well did they fix it finally?
For a while when you used it, the shock only went out as a normal shock in front of you- but it did the aoe ring shock VISUAL effect but it would not hit unless they were in front.

I didn’t use it when I started playing Nurse because I didn’t want to become reliant on it. One of the reasons why I didn’t want to run Shadowborn... Which I now refuse to take off. I’d say just chalk it up to BHVR making yet another pointless add-on to suck up your BP.

I used it in the first ~10 matches on nurse and found it useful; and I still use it for KYF tests of reworked maps' collisions and dead zones.

Its because its a learning tool for nurses along with 90% of her add-ons being worthless.
Why does she have an ENTIRE ADD-ON LINE for giving negligible amount of bonus BP on blinks?

I used it for the first week of learning Nurse so I could build the muscle memory of how long to hold my charges. It's like when I learned Huntress for a few days I put a tiny piece of tape in the center of my monitor so I could build the memory of where to actually aim.
Plaid Flannel was super helpful for me but I quickly swapped it for a more useful add-on.

Do you already know how to play Nurse and have some muscle memory built on how to best use her charges? If so, it's not an add-on designed for you. It's literally made for the baby Nurses that are playing her for the first few times.
It's like the Blight's add-on that shows his impact location. It's made for people that are having a hard time figuring out how to use his power.

It's a perfectly fine add-on to grasp how the blink mechanic works and to explore hitboxes in certain areas of maps. Nothing wrong with it. It's simply training wheels. You're not gonna win a race using it, but it will keep you straight while you take your first baby steps.

Maybe, I've been working on her for about 3 days now.
Still don't have many perks unlocked yet though.

I made a post recently saying that Plaid Flannel bacame a clutch addon for me. Yep, i started to learn nurse with that addon and now i can't play her without it. It's purpose besides learning the killer is making precise difficult blinks between levels without eating a wall.

I've watched this 22 times and it still physically hurts me every time.

As annoying as it is, it is still helpful for newer nurse players to learn how to time their blinks and how it works on elevation.

I don't know how you can do it. It's like playing with one arm behind my back I've never felt so hindered with an addon before as with that one. People find it useful but I just can't fathom myself it is all haha.
I can see it being useful for like....information gathering in a KYF or something just not in a live game. (Again, just personally people I get it is useful to others)
Edit: I am not sure but I think I am getting made fun of in some of the foreign language boards for finding it a distracting addon haha.
