Kill Switch update: We have temporarily disabled The Legion due to an issue that allows for infinite power spam. The Legion will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

So next time option to reverse an update?

Look, i have no Idea on how this works, so i ask you guys who maybe have a little bit more knowledge on that topic.

The recent update broke many things, mostly for survivor but also for killer.

We can agree that it wasnt a very good patch regarding fun in this game.

In my head i am like "isnt there a back up file?" just reverse the update and work on it until its not game breaking anymore? Isnt that a safety net game Devs should have? I mean, what if there would be a bug where people (killer or survivors) could make the game crash? It would be abused by trolls and the game would be litterally unplayable.

And it seems there would be no going back because right now the game is kinda broken and not reverted to the previous patch.

So do they even have the option to revert back to the last patch? or do they just not want to?

Just asking, as i said I have no idea on how this works. So anyone explaining me would be nice :)

You can't opt out of an update for an online game.

    It doesn't work that way.

Dev has control over everything. If they don't want to rollback nobody is rolling back. And believe me BHVR has no intention of rolling back.

They can. But they not gonna do this. Every update has a list of added features and fixed bugs. So they can't allow to step back and revert a work. They rather try to fix new bugs, than get back to old build.

Rolling back a patch would essentially be another patch.

Every patch needs to be approved by the platforms which takes some time.

Unless it's a bug that litterally makes the game unplayable for all or the mayority of people there is not much point to rolling back.

And I think it cost money to to approve a patch also so that's double the reason not to roll back for them.

I'm not an expert but i think that's the gist of it. They Could roll back if they wanted to. It's just not lucrative to do so for something that will be fixed a week after.

    For sure they can.

They won't. That's all you need to know.

of course they can, there is no dev team in the world incompetent enough not to have a save of every major build of a project like this. They just choose not to because their "work" is something they refuse to compromise. Unfortunately they don't know the first thing about game design (from like a professional stand point), to make intelligent choices

It's not hard to revert code when using version control (i.e. github). But there's not really anything major that needs to be reverted right now. A lot of the things people are complaining about can be fixed and don't require a full revert.

We don't reverse no damn patch here. Don't even dare suggesting such blasphemy.

BHVR fully embraces the ancient philosophical mystical school of the Sunk Cost Fallacy, guided through the darkness by the light of the one and only supreme being known as Months Of Work.
