Players that are given the opportunity to farm, but don’t.

I’ve never used Nurse before, so rather than trying to kill everybody I just used my first round as an opportunity to figure out the blink mechanic. Well, I barely had the opportunity to do so because all everybody did was gen rush and leave. This isn’t the first time where I’ve allowed people to do whatever they want for the most part but they almost always act is if it’s a life and death struggle, and probably think I suck when in actuality if they gave the situation two seconds thought they’d realize that I wasn’t even trying to defend gens. But at least I had enough time to pass the rift challenge of hitting two people after a blink in one round. Still, missed opportunity on their end. Highest score was only 15,000 bp.

When noed rancor blood warden and face camping in the game trust with the killer is not easy to just hand in on a whim.

I didn’t expect the round to last 20 minutes, but I did expect at least one of them to stick around long enough to tea bag me. How disappointing. Lol

I am not against some chase if I see that the player have trouble with certain killer. But I hate the kind of farm when killers and survivors work together to get bp. I just lose the will to do anything and would rather just die or kill.

On ps4 killers ocassionally send you a message: "farm". I always left when I saw it. Now my messages are disabled so I don't know when will it happen. But yeah. I hate farm.

Not really interested in that, nor do I ultimately care if they left so fast either. Just thought it a little strange that nobody even tried to get even a little more bloodpoints out of it, like the usual “run me around the exit until I get a hit in” bit.

I've been in this situation before as a survivor... many times! I don't want to farm, I want actual matches. So if a killer tries to farm I'll do gens asap and leave. It's not all about bloodpoints, I play the game for fun. There is no fun in farming.

That's why I don't hang around at the exit either. After a few boring mins playing gen simulator, I don't want to waste anymore of my time and so beeline to an exit gate and leave asap to try and find a more enjoyable game.

Yeah farming isnt everyones cup of tea, i do alot of farming late night on weekends because the matchmaking is usually terrible for me, and i have challenges on killers i havent leveled/played before. If they dont wanna farm i usually just corner up and open the gate for them as soon as the gens are done to move on and try the next one.

I like to farm sometimes but it depends on a few things:

    1. If I bring a map offering then I probably don't want to farm. Usually I'm bringing the map for a reason so farming is usually a no.

    2. If you don't bring a bloodpoint offering then I also see it as a no. Why would I farm when you don't bring bloodpoint offerings.

    3. If you just decide to farm because the game is going to bad for you then I'll also probably not do it.

Farming is a hard topic to get all parties to agree on and trust they'll not backstab you. I've had games where I've agreed to farm and got betrayed (Pig post a while ago) and games where the killer worked with 2 survivors to get me killed because I didn't want to farm.

True. I confess I’m not big on true farming when it goes on. I’m talking about more “soft” farming. Depending on wait time between matches, if the game moves too quickly and I won’t be getting many bp out of it I’ll find something extra to do before going out the door, like cleanse a dull totem I didn’t need to. If I’m not likely to get into another game for an entire 15 minutes then I may as well get what little I can out of this one, imho.

I want to learn nurse as well, but after trying it a few times and what survivors love to do is rushing as of a few weeks.

I decided to wait till their brilliant mmr system is implemented and then try and learn her

I'm curious... is it against forum rules to discuss farming or farm matches?

From reading them many times I've seen nothing to suggest it is so I don't believe so.

It's not against the rules no. We don't encourage it however as it's not something we particularly approve of and it can often lead to griefing - forcing players to farm etc, which is where a big line gets crossed.

Custom game with bots, practice to your hearts content anytime of day is the real solution here.

I don't mind farming games tbh, lots of points and a bit relaxed match once in a while is nice. But that's just my personal opinion. If other people don't like farming it's fine too.

And that is why i hate it when killers want to farm but don't message me.

Only during the game they show they want to farm and i show them to just hook me and they shake their heads and move away from me.

So i just try to rush the gens but sometimes get worked against by other survivors who want to farm and are missing skill checks so the gens won't complete

These are all really interesting replies but they are all wrong

Its not that they want a "real match" its actually very rare survivors want to a real match at all because of how the has evolved. Most people who play survivor want easy wins. Thats it. Thats why you play right? That and to bully the killer. But theres a way around it

Basically what they're saying, ask someone if they want to farm and if not kill them, let them get farmed off the hook. Its mean i get it, and most killers don't have it in them to bully someone like that because all the sadist play survivor only (pig mains excluded) but you should. You should be mean you should have the survivors fear you, the trust should be uneasy. Hell thats how the game was envisioned originally but now i think its technically against the rules because when they added SWF it changed the games dynamic, it ruined so much of the potential the game had for different game play situations and now we are left with 2. 1. Escape or 2. Taunt the killer

But yeah if you want those challenges bully, i like to ask someone if theyll help before the match starts and if not they die, ill give them one more chance while they're slugged and if they dont reply or DC its on to the next one

Not to beat a dead horse (Hi Maurice!) but I agree with most of the people above. I don't enjoy farming. I get more than enough BP by just playing the game.

If you want to learn Nurse that's a noble endeavor, but you're either going to either need to find a friend to play a private game with or get used to losing games for a while until you figure out her mechanics.

When I wanted to farm I asked before the game. If they didn't reply then I either didn't play or killed them all.

If they said they would but refused to in game then I just killed them all lol

There's just certain games where you don't want to farm. My mates and me have a few drinks at the weekend and play meme builds. There's nothing worse than us using a map and bringing a certain build only for the killer to want to farm. Nothing infuriates me more than when they do this, even though they didn't bring a point offering.

If they bring a point offering and there's a few on the line I'll usually do it. I love my points after all lol

As a survivor main I have no desire whatsoever to farm. Bloodpoints don't matter to me. If I'm playing I want to play a competitive match. I really appreciate killers that send messages in the lobby. I will happily leave the lobby and allow you to find someone that wants to farm. However, if I suddenly get stuck in a farming match I am going to get out of it as quickly as possible. A killer may be able to force me into a match where they intend to farm, but I am under no obligation to participate.
