Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

A Deathslinger change that keeps the fun he has when you play as him

Very simple: The longer you aim down sights, the stronger the chains become (longer to break even with walls) I’m not gonna put a percentage because it could be too much so i’m just gonna say this:

28F33406-82EF-478A-975F-9A021D5C5B47.png

The longer you aim down sights the chains become stronger by X% up to a maximum of X Seconds and the quicker you shoot then the chains become weaker by X% (They break faster)

How does this keep the fun he has you ask? you can still quick shoot but you risk the chains breaking faster. and you can keep holding the aim for a stronger chain.

Now I’m not calling deathslinger op, his map pressure is weak which can make it a boring game for both sides because survivors have to abuse his weak map pressure by genrushing.

Interesting change, it would need a lot of tweaking. With your method you can still get quick shot if you're out in the open - punished for bad positioning. Only thing I'm afraid of is that it could be impossible to shut down certain loops because you'd be just like the huntress where they could duck in response to your aiming.. but you couldn't hit over pallets like she can. It might make it more fun to play against, but deathslinger is already not a fantastic killer, and this would be a straight up nerf.

It is an interesting idea, but, honestly, Deathslinger is fine. He does not need changes.

Deathslinger is already a below average to average killer at the very best. There's really no reason to find ways to make him worse...

It seems to me the big issue with DS is survivors don't adjust how to run from him. Every killer has a strength and weakness to their chasing ability. DSs is he's slow so you keep to tight turns and corners but people act like all they have to do is run to any old loop and then are shocked pikachu when DS just shoots them in the back because they ran around in the open trying to get to one of the big loops.

The problem with changing Deathslinger in any way is the fact that his strong chase is the only thing he has. Huntress can still hit across the map- Slinger can not. If we change his chase to be weaker, we have to buff him in some other way so he isn't terrible.

Would like this idea but with range added

The longer you aim the further the chain goes and how longer it takes to break it.

Quickshots still work but with limited range and now DS can brag about their 30+ meter headshot.

    Fun for all

Actually not a bad idea but it would need a lot of refining in the numbers department. I personally don't think slinger needs any serious changes.

Yeah your idea is 100x better, instead of a stronger chain a further reach sounds way more fun

Honestly both your ideas are very interesting. While deathslinger is weak, this addresses his frustration very well. The devs will probably have to buff him in some other way though but ideas are really interesting

I can't count the amount of times I've suggested this change for Slinger...The longer you ADS, the faster and longer the range of the projectile. I've never liked the suggestions of giving him a wind-up to his aim, or a slowdown when stopping ADS, that would make him a bootleg Huntress that doesn't even guarantee a hit. The fast ADS is what makes him unique. Then you'd probably have buff his movement speed while aiming to around 80/85% (Up from 75%) and perhaps his reeling speed should be a lot faster because if he manages to hit shots at a long range, those should almost always be rewarded with a hit unless there's some stuff in the way.

(Oh and remove the downside from Marshal's Badge and Gold Creek Whiskey please and thank you)

Tbf. this would hurt him more than help him in the end, quickshots are quite literally the only way he can even manage to do good against Decent survivors that can Dodge em..

Edit: Lest you give him a 115% buff to go along with that quickshot nerf, i don't see this happening
