When starting a new game

So just out of curiosity, when you start a new game that lets you choose your gender or different gendered characters to play as what do you typically choose? Do you match your gender or play an opposite gender? Or do you really not care?

(I made the poll anonymous since I'm sure some people don't want to be judged, even though they shouldn't be)

It depends on the game, it depends if there are pre-made characters or you can customize them. If they are pre-made, I'll probably choose a female character, but if you can costumize the character to your liking, I usually choose male.

I don't why you want to know this.

But I usually make a male character my first playthrough because I find it more relatable.

Depends on the custom aspect. I mean in DBD i went from Meg to Ace to Yui to Zarina/Élodie.

But when i played WoW a little i usually went for Male character coz i hate how sexualized female characters are and how they are humanized compared to their male version.

I have to say that I love the inclusion of non-binary characters down the bottom despite practically zero games having non-binary characters.

It shows a nice bit of hope for the future that I appreciate.

Personally when I start new games I like to make them like stories about a character so I flip between male, female, and (if specifically included in the game) non-binary.

Edit: When I say specifically I mean there's an option for your character to be non-binary and it's not just like "Oh I feel like this character would be non-binary"

No real reason really. Just a conversation starter/curiosity

There's getting less and less of a reason to not include it in games now, so hopefully soon it'll be more common

    Claudette is invisible so...

But also Felix with a certain skin set up because he just looks so clean and awesome with it.

I prefer female Characters. I cannot really identify with male Characters, I would need to do myself in the game, but I also dont want to play an ugly character the whole time. :P

With female Characters, I just can do whatever I like, so most of my characters are female. Sometimes it also depends on what I want to do with them ingame, e.g. if I want to go for a Strength-Build in Dark Souls, I rather create a big, muscular Male. But thats basically the exception.

It really doesn't matter to me, although it does depend on the game I'm playing. Sometimes I'll feel like playing as a girl & sometimes I'll feel like playing as a guy.

I like to play with female characters. when i play with a male character, i feel very weird and awkward. because it feels like I'm pretending to be the opposite sex.

Sometimes it's nice to try them but the most fun experience for me is with female characters. 😅
