What is the purpose of a bully squad?
Rank 1 surv and killer here with 5k hours. Just wondering why do bully squads even exist? Preventing an inexperienced killer from getting one hook then yelling at him because you depipped and he didn't hook enough for you to get altruism seems to be counterintuitive? Also they only exist due to how easy it is to be a 4 man discord party and knowing the killer genuinely can't do anything about you if you play your cards correctly.

Bully Squads exist to give killers a justification for tunneling and camping. If the survivors' only goal is to ruin the killer's fun, it invites the killer to play as dirty as they'd like. It's one big mud wrestling battle where all the normal rules go out the window.

Buddy, the lengths i've seen some people go to just for the sole purpose of ruining the experience of others on the internet is mind-boggling.
I've seen people abuse the cheat detection of Dark Souls to invade people and get them softbanned for literally just being victims. No actual feedback that it happens, no confirmation, just the knowledge that eventually, they'll lose online functionality unless they delete their character that they poured hours and hours into, and that's good enough for them. The sheer myopic degeneracy it takes to take pleasure in that kind of thing is, quite literally, unimaginable to me.
The internet brings out the worst in some people.

Bully squads are formed in the purpose of making the killer DC/go AFK since the survivors aren't doing gens but are instead pissing the killer off & holding the game hostage.
An example could be the Head On & locker grab tech, in which that leads to almost unlimited stuns if the killer falls for it & flashlight saves when the killer grabs you from the locker.
Unfortunately people like this make others quit the game for good & it's sad to think about.

Is it on par? Probably not. At their core, Tunneling and Camping are means of getting kills, which is still the core goal of the killer. They're also not very sporting, a fact that is reflected in how doing these will result in lower bloodpoints by the end of the match (and, after all, getting bloodpoints is the real point of the game).
What IS an equal counter is slugging the entire survivor team and letting them all bleed out. At that point, you're wasting your time and theirs just to demonstrate your disdain for them and their tactics. You're saying "I would rather not get easy points and just end this game because you have chosen to try and ruin my fun, so now nobody gets to have any fun."
I'm not saying that I've slugged teams that bring 4x flashlights and body block / sabo every hook before I can hook them. But I'm also not NOT saying that.

Oh well. Do you know those middle-aged men that dedicate thousands of precious hours to a hobby instead of a few per week on a therapist? Or that acquaintance that speaks of nothing but their diet or pyramid scheme? Or that woman that desperately clings to her poor choices hoping that love can fix everything? Or those chads that purchase a huge truck and strap a pair of metal balls to it?
They are a bunch of delusionals trying to compensate for their emptiness, just like the ######### in those squads.

Why do bullies exist? You have a leader, who needs to feel self worth by making another person feel beneath them, and you have the followers who need to feel included, to be part of something. Same with bully squads. They get a kick out of making one person miserable, to make their own sad existences worth something.
