Letting last survivor get the hatch?

what do you think about killing 3 and letting the 4th get the hatch? i only consider it if they’ve played well and fairly. as a survivor though it’s a nerve wrecking feeling when the killer downs you to take you to the hatch. other times it seems unfair? i guess it depends on the game? opinions?

When i play killer i usually never let the survivors get the hatch. If they are blatantly new players and i absolutely dumpstered their team i might be merciful so long as they diden't try and be OchiDo wannabes. Usually if i dumpster noobs there is 4 or 5 generators left to do and i dont feel like waiting so i just kill them and move on.

Depends on my mood, 90% of the time.
I usually don't let the hatch when I gave "sufficient chances" to players tho, or if they are overly toxic.

Why though? Its your job to kill them
And on the other hand, I have never seen a survivor who gave me a free sacrifice just because all others escaped already and because he "feels bad for the killer"
    Is that unfair?

I cant wait till they finally introduce leaderboards and rewards and we will see what piece of unbalanced ######### this game actually is when survivors go into tryhard mode. Then devs are forced to do sth about it, different queues for SWF or whatever etc etc

@Master i 100% get your point i was just curious about others thoughts on it, and yes most survivors are so toxic even to other survivors, but when i swf, my friend or i always sacrifice ourselves to the killer if they haven’t got kills or were trolled.

I would never give away a hatch if I was actually tryharding in the game.
In its current state however, I am staying intentionally in low ranks and have fun with "meme" killers.
When I verse SWF who are trying to bully new killers, then they will regret trying to bully me.

However, when I verse legit rank 20s, I will 3 hook them and even give away the hatch sometimes, but if they tbagged me, DSed me or flashlight stuned me several times, then there is no mercy either^^

i don't frown on anybodys playstyle. you bought the game. play as you wish.... but i am a fair and merciful killer.... i feel good just knowing i could've won. i have no issues with letting someone duck out via hatch.... i prefer to be thanked for it though.... most ppl can't even be bothered with dropping a 'gg'....

If I come across a particular survivor who I can tell is pretty bad or new at best then i'll sometimes go easier on them but 99% of the time its death or escape through the gate. I'll sometimes carry them to the hatch then whammy them on a hook for good measure. Stops the survivor community feeling entitled.

@deadwolfwalking yeah! some people really don’t have manners... gg is the least they could do if you give them the hatch, i try to congratulate & thank people as much as possible after games because some people are so toxic and want to complain 24/7

I will grant the hatch to a survivor if one of the following conditions is met:

    1. They played very fairly in the game and were genuinely the last one standing.
    2. One or more other survivors DC'd for whatever reason making the trial unfair for them.
    3. They made me laugh in the match.

Otherwise I will hook them up and take my points.

@TeambossFloze haha i love that, hooking them infront of the hatch. i play on ps4 and am a survivor main and even i can’t stand the survivors, playing with some people is dreadful they need a wake up call. i’m not sure how they act on PC but i’m sure it’s not too different..

I play both and there isn't much difference tbh - I tend to not give too much away in terms of kindness because I am very rarely shown it by survivors, in fact im more likely to get trolled than anything else so I'm probably going to hook you, I may let you do a bonus generator, take you to hatch, point at it, wait til you jump and GOTCHA...GG :D

@Steebear funny people are the best kind... rather see people be humorous rather than entitled and sending rude messages or trolling. even if someone kills me, i love when they put humor into it, ex: me shaking no when getting downed and them shaking their head yes. small gestures make the game better.

Like a lot of people are saying, it depends on what happened in the game. If it was overall a nice game with not many DS's, or flashlighting, or teabagging etc., then I will sometimes feel inclined to let the last guy go.

I also let people go if I feel the match was unfair, for example someone DC'd and screwed them over, or it was a 3v1, or if I kinda just crushed them.

DS's and toxic behaviour will never result in me letting anyone go (if given the chance).

i too am on a PS4.... i'm a killer main but sometimes i play SWF. i tell ppl i don't have a mic because alot of the ppl i enjoy playing with are such crybaby bitches. i'd rather keep liking them by not talking to them.... :D

I remember playing a lone survivor with this SWF team, saved 2 of them twice, did 3 generators and then 2 got killed and I found the hatch as the killer hooked and camped the last guy. So I sat on the hatch til he died - man...the amount of salty abuse I got ….I got message after message after message...I was like guys get a grip lol - I think killers are generally nicer than survs tbh

@deadwolfwalking omg haha same, when i swf its always the same person i play with, i dislike when randoms ask me to swf with them because i don’t want to talk to them... from my experience it’s always been super young full of energy people who want to troll rather than try to play a real game. they end up hurting my odds of surviving.

i'm a horrible survivor. sometimes i even forget the object of the game. the killer gets close and my dwight will say 'BRING IT, FAT BOY' and i charge him.... then i remember dwights trigger button is way different than billys.... :D

@TeambossFloze that’s how it typically goes... whenever i am alone and go against a team of swf it’s always agony. i end up doing all the work and if i get hooked they typically won’t come help since it’s not one of them.. i try to be the opposite of that when i swf.

Yeah I mean my playstyle is generally very altruistic and I do expect it from my fellow survivors - tho too many times Ive been hooked and watched from a distance as these three yellow blobs are running backwards and forwards between gens and don't even make an attempt. Although i'm hoping this changes more with the emblem udpdate

@deadwolfwalking it is the strangest thing when a killer comes at me and sometimes i just turn to them and don’t run away... and they stop coming and we just stare for a second. it’s like a weird bond was formed... we understand each other, maybe they save me for last. and then there’s the times where they continue charging and i am snapped back to reality lol

@TeambossFloze i cannot explain how i feel when i get hooked the first time and the other 3 are working on a gen, they’ll get me after... and then they finish it and all 3 jump on another gen together... i haven’t seen much change from lower rank survivors but when you get to low teens- single digits they help but then again i expect that from their rank.

Yeah I think this will improve slowly as people understand the emblem status, I mean when I play SWF its normally a fight between us as to who gets to go save...cant wait to get that damn afk guy off the hook lol

Well I play both survivor and killer, I'll give the hatch if the survivor deserves it but I'll never give the hatch to someone who is toxic or just made my experience as a killer terrible. On the other hand, if I'm in a swf group (Sometimes in general) and the killer gets destroyed, I would let the killer sacrifice me for his effort of trying but I won't if he makes my time as a survivor terrible (AKA: Repeatedly hitting me on the hook for no reason until I get sacrificed, camping me when there's 5 generators left and it's a 3v1, and etc).

@deadwolfwalking that always happens to be with Michael, i know it is because he is leveling his tier up, but panning the camera over and seeing him stare from a distance is like a horror movie. seeing any killer stare from a distance is always odd and makes me uneasy lol.

Agreed with most here, I will easily offer the hatch to a decent survivor player who could actually outdo me without pallet looping or toxicity, but dare to do so and your ass is mine to play with if you don't get too that hatch first, Not saying anything holding games hostage, I'mma just find you and hook you.

I have done it but it is rare. Usually depends on circumstances in game. Example: great match, no douche tactics by survivors, no flashlight spamming, no body blocking. I had no reason to camp anyone, every one got the hook at least once. Last survivor was giving me a hell of a chance. Poor thing ran past the hatch five times and never saw it. Once I finally got em, I carried over to the hatch and dropped. Come to find out it was a SWF of newbies, only their third or fourth match. They were considering quitting the game because previous killers camped the hell out of them but our match convinced them to keep playing.

It is extremely rare for me to give out hatch. I did it once today, but that only because I played against the same person and killed him with NOED and also all other 3 survs DC'd. When I do give hatch is because I either feel pity or the player actually deserves it. I never give hatch to somebody who is toxic or has DS.

Never. I don't care who you are or what you did, I will show no mercy. You can complain all you want, but there is nothing that will change my mind.
