Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Solution to character inclusivity

Everyone wants and deserves to be represented in some way, shape or form and at the end of the day someone is always going to be upset. So what if there were no original survivors introduced? (they could still release licensed survivors)

At the end of the day, the core survivor gameplay never changes based off of who you choose; so what if BHVR instead implemented a character creation tool specifically for survivors? Thus allowing the player to make who they want to play?

I know it's a long stretch and the Devs might say its too much work and some players might be upset that the survivor lore is gone. But it would allow them to spend more time creating killers while satisfying the overall design issues players want.

Its a good Idea but the problem is is that its never going to happen no one would ever play the survivors they made lore for and put a lot of time into also cosmetics for those survivors earns behavior a lot of money

It's a nice idea, but it's not the same. It's not so much about people wanting to play as characters that remind them of themselves, but more about people wanting concrete proof that the videogame world they immerse themselves in is as wonderfully diverse as the one we all live in.

The idea is not bad and has been done in other games multiple times but at its core DbD has their distinctive well-established characters.

i might not be a big fan of the written lore, but the design artists are making a pretty damn great job in creating those characters and I don’t want to miss any of that.

not every single individual will or can be included. And almost everybody can understand that. But the thing is, as long as they are not explicitly excluded it’s okay. (And yeah there may be exclusions because of gameplay reasons, eg wheelchairs.)

I love character creation in games and I always spend eternity making them but I don't think it would turn out great in this game and if you ask me it is not really needed.

We have a lot of characters and cosmetics that even change their appearance a lot. I am happy with the current customization tbh.

I feel like this couldn’t work due to DBD having both characters people have already have grown attached to aswell as licenced survivors

Talk about survivor, everyone starts with 7 defaults characters. Which cause most player focus their first complete perks on one of them (as me was Nea).

I think they should lock all characters except Dwight & Trapper. Other 10 characters locked, but give 90.000 shards to let new players buy any characters they want. There we have diversity of survivors.

i like that idea a lot. That way, new players could utilize perks like Visionary better, which is mostly created for inexperienced but most people that get Felix have already much experience anyway..
