Last survivor without hatch. How do you escape through the gate?
Opening the gate takes about 20 seconds and on some maps the gates are close to each other. Along with the speed of the killer It is almost impossible to open the gate and the endgame collapse timer makes it difficult too.
Please share your way of escaping when you're the last survivor alive.

I give up and run to the killer face and point at a hook ^^

This is the most consistent and secure way I've found to actually escape from the endgame collapse when you're by yourself. You head to the nearest exit gate and then crouch around the corner of it and you wait. Once you hear the terror radius get loud (signal he's close) and then recede again (that he's done with his check and going back to the other gate) that's your cue to go straight to open the exit gate. Without hesitation, you need all the time you can get so moving quickly at the first opportunity is the key. Most killers won't check either gate especially thoroughly, and they're really looking for whichever gate begins to glow first, once they find whichever gate is glowing they will stay and look because they know you are or at least were nearby, likely you won't have time to run all the way to the other exit gate so they won't bother to even try going back to the other when you've already got progress on this particular gate.
AKA - opening the gate for a few seconds and then hiding again is a HORRIBLE Idea. It's the worst thing you can do because you're giving away your position, and which gate you're at.
As soon as the killer leaves, you're essentially banking on the distance to walk from the gate you're at, to the other, and back, or more specifically the distance to walk from one gate to the other until the other is visible and back again. If your RNG is good, the killer won't be back in time to catch you off the gate, your chances are even better if you're at full health and you can take a hit buying you a few extra precious seconds of time while the killer wipes off their weapon.
If you had bad rng and the gates are close to each other, or so close that they can even both be seen from a single spot, you're kinda screwed either way.

I die a lot by doing that, but I don't want to play hide and seek for the whole EGC. I'll take my chance to get it open while the killer's gone -- if it works, it works; if it doesn't, oh well.

I don’t like this part so I just make a run for it. I go to one of the gates and I try to open it. If the killer sees me then I’ll just let them grab me and put me on a hook.

Not a horrible idea, in fact a very good idea if you pull it just before the first red light starts to glow. It saves you a few seconds which is enough to open the exit gate when the killer leaves to check the other gate.

I forgot to mention that you can do this as well yeah, but in my experience that's more for your own comfort than for any actual advantage or benefit. Typically if you're caught at the exit gates, it's because you had really bad luck / RNG and the killer could make quick trips back and forth between both gates. Meaning you won't really be anywhere near opening the gate completely to begin with.
Either you're able to open the gate completely with even a few seconds to spare because it takes so long for the killer to make the back and forth trip, or you're caught well before you can open the gate in the first place. Rarely have I been caught down to the wire where those extra 1.2 or 0.6 seconds (or whatever it is you gain opening the exit gate and then letting it go before the red light starts blinking) would have actually mattered. It's usually either one or the other.
Although it certainly can't work against you, so long as you're able to do this safely without being seen and you don't mess it up by accidentally holding the gate lever down too long and the red light starts glowing it's not a bad thing. Then again, if either of these two things happen, it's basically game over which is why I usually don't do it myself, purely because it's not really worth the risk imo.

This works for me most of the time. If you meant doing it just before the first light turns on and finishing it after the killer goes away.

I think it can save you up to 1/6th of the time, which is 3.33 secs, and let's say just 3 secs to be on the safe side. 3 seconds is a lot and often can mean the difference between escaping or being killed.

I use spiny chill so as soon as it activate it means that the killer is going for me, then i hide and wait the killer go to the next exit gate, when spine chill activetes again i hide, if the killer notice that i am there by the lights that the gate do and decide to camp that exit, i just go to the another if i have time
this strategy only works with spine chill because, if you do by their terror radios you will not have enought time to get on an safe position to go to the other exit without being noticed
