How much trust did behavior restore?
So this chapter brought some back after two disasters this chapter I believe was played safe. They didn't try anything risky. They didn't bring a complex killer power. Likely to have bugs simple power dude throws knives. They didn't do much other changes but the few changes were good. Wraith got built in Windstorm he can be more viable now. Blights FOV was increased it's weird to see now but it's a good change I bet more will try Blight but not much since he's like Nurse where there's a high skill ceiling that most would rather not go through. Colorblind settings were good. The DS change no more abuse. So the devs played it safe and for now it's worked.

Some humanity has been restored
HOWEVER
- We needed to ***** about DS... for how long?
- We complained a lot about Blight POV
- We complained a lot about Wraith needing the RIGHT buff
- A checkmark from Twitter had to trash BHVR over colorblind settings to actually get them.

My biggest worry is the performance from PTB hitting LIVE.

I personally didn't enjoy playing the new killer but every other change that came with it is really good. DS changes, blight FOV, wraith speed and colorblind settings. These are good changes/additions to the game and I barely noticed any annoying bugs so far in the PTB.

i think they did a good job with this new chapter finllany i can fell that we have something fresh in this game. im a bit worried abut performenc issue on ptb tho

-The Wraith change was unexpected but very much welcomed.
-All the other changes were good too.
-New killer and survivor seem fine.
-Not seen any new gamebreaking bugs so far
-Can't say anything about the map rework yet,obviously
All in all it seems like a good update SO FAR,but let us wait for the live release first.
However,they STILL didn't address optimization issues so my faith in BHVR is not restored at all

Blight POV required a lot of work to change and they needed time for that
DS was already nerfed three times before this nerf. They were certainly not ignoring it and this is the exact change lots of people were asking for

Never lost faith in the first place. This game has always been a buggy mess that runs like crap, but it also has pretty consistently changed for the better over time and gets a lot of new (and often free) content. Twins was egregious, but it seems pretty ridiculous to ignore the many other successful DLC releases they've had for one dud.

To fully restore faith for me they need to continue doing what they did after the 4.5 backlash and be more transparent in providing public roadmaps/updates on what they are planning on fixing with the next patches and hotfixes.
If they continue to communicate and show they're listening to community feedback without the community having to get up in arms each and every update they'll have restored my faith in them.

But console players have to deal with really bad FPS and FPS drops for YEARS so i wouldn't be too surprised if it did hit live.

This does seem particularly egregious, though. If FPS on decent PCs is 30 FPS lobby and 40 FPS game, which I saw in the bug report thread, that means that other platforms are probably slideshows. It's also specifically tied to the new killer rather than being consistently poor frame rate and specific causes of frame drops should be easier to address than the game just having a poor frame rate in general.

- Colorblind mode was an issue for years. Is it pure coincidence that Almo makes a statement about it on his stream and after the backlash, we immediately get teased with the colorblind mode? Not mentioning the scuffed pictures we got, that looked they were made in Photoshop for fast damage control. You can google it yourself "DBD colorblind backlash" and there are some articles about it, or you can find the video in question yourself about the game designer and his comments about it that lead to this.
- Blight POV was an issue for more than half a year, we've said it from day 1. Why did it take this long to get this fixed? Resources went to the new HUD and movement we didn't ask for.
- Every Q&A when the DS topic appeared "We're looking into it" for like how long was this single line used?

None. But I'm thinking the game will lose support by the end of the year anyway.
Absolutely have Steven Spohn to thank for the colorblind mode. He's a great advocate for gamers, I wouldn't reduce him to "some Twitter checkmark."

This is probably the big thing for me. If the Dev showcases give us more "hey, this is what we're EXACTLY targeting in the next 2-3 patches, here are some details" I will be happy. I can sort of understand waiting on the UI to go live before making final decisions, as it was a major change - but they should have made the rest of that patch rock-solid after that PTB.
In my opinion, the devs have been a little aggressive on changes for the timelines they want to keep. I'm glad that they want to keep new content and reworks coming, but it seems like there needs to be more of a balance between quality control and content.

Did you play the PTB? There's clearly new bugs popping up that affect core gameplay.
If BHVR fixes them before release then some trust can be restored. But more than likely they will meet expectations and change nothing until a hotfix.

It has been an issue for years, yes, and they've also been getting regular feedback about it. Given the potential to abuse colorblind mode for better visibility, the amount of work that would be to develop in the first place, and (most importantly) the fact that there are so many other glaring issues to address and they're already on a tight release schedule, it doesn't surprise me that it took a while for them to finish it. It would honestly be more surprising if they decided to put in that much work effort after comments on one stream were taken badly by a small part of the community.
As for Blight, they said it themselves - they had to redo all of his animations in order to raise the camera and the animations team already had their hands full with making adjustments to the Twins (e.g. adding animations for Victor holding a locker closed) in addition to their normal workload. Seems fair, especially since Blight was still good and fun to play before the changes.
The community didn't ask for a lot of positive changes in this game. The HUD and movement were a few tweaks from being good when they released and people pilloried them for it and demanded they be entirely reverted. They make a ton of sense too. They fit with the larger graphical overhaul, the animations are more smooth and realistic than before, the HUD performs substantially better, provides more information than before, and has UI scaling options. We don't care, though. They moved the statuses from the bottom left to the top left and moonwalking is a bit harder now so I guess we need to riot. If the community got changes for everything they constantly complain about this game would be a disaster. Removing SWF alone would be enough to kill the game and people still call for this constantly. Community feedback should just be another consideration and that's thankfully how the devs have treated it so far.
What makes you think they weren't looking into DS changes? DS is a perk they've had a hard time balancing, as is clear from the fact that it was nerfed three times and was still too strong. Getting tunneled is a terrible experience for survivors and the mere existence of this perk encourages the killer not to tunnel so, much like BT, it's important for DS to exist. Nerfing DS too much would just make it open season for tunneling and the game could end up in a worse state than before. Not nerfing it enough wouldn't solve the problem of it being used aggressively and being frustrating to deal with as killer, though. It makes sense they would want to play around with some different concepts before changing it again.

This game has long prioritized new content over increasing stability, performance, etc. For better or for worse, it is what it is. They're not going to drop everything to nerf DS, or add colorblind settings, or fix whatever other pet issues people have, when they're already laser focused on releasing four DLCs a year, reworking the old maps, etc. Their priorities need to be keeping the game fun, healthy, and profitable long term and I think they've done a good job with this so far. Prioritizing new content is important for maintaining a robust player base and keeping money flowing in, regardless of whether or not we personally want to see new content more than QoL changes or other tweaks to existing content.

None. I'm more worried then ever the direction the game is going in. The trickster is clearly an attempt at pandering and attracting the Kpop crowd. Imagine if nurse was released today. She'd probably be a smoking hot red head in a nurse outfit.

A lot better than last two updates.. I just wish they'd do more perk changes. Having 6 perks changes each midchapter isn't enough. I wish they'd start buffing perks during every update, both chapter and mid chapter. There are so many bad perks in the game right now, that could use a number buff or a complete rework.

Overall this ptb is pretty great. Main issue is the new killers strength but im sure they'll buff him.........right?

I don't think there is any chance that they ignored feedback on colorblind mode for years, but then after one tweet from a dude with like 75k followers they decided to bang out a functional colorblind mode in six weeks. Not trying to diminish the guy - just saying it's unrealistic to expect that he's the reason for this. I'd be surprised if they weren't already working on it well before that tweet.

They restored just a little bit of my faith in them, just a little. What needs to happen is they need to address all of the problems they currently have (not with the game itself only) with the community and why they don't work as hard as they should. Of course that'll ever happen.

They still have a long way to go in order to fully restore my trust in them. Everyone knows the track record of the people at BHVR takes one step forward in doing something good, but then proceeds to take multiple steps backwards when doing something bad. My trust in them will remain very low until I see them doing things correctly with every update

I think they did ignore it for years. I mean they probably had it on a list somewhere and knew about it but it was super low priority. I refuse to believe that they're so incompetent that they struggle to change some colors in their game.

Not a fan of the killer in many ways! The Wraith buff was very good but took them this long? Same with DS and I still think it should be 45 seconds since Pop got this nerf. Blight I don't play anymore since he is garbage on console.
I mean they did better this time and it gives us hope for more killer buffs..thinking mostly of Trapper. But since I almost only play survivor these days I would love to see solo survivors getting something. Like an indicator of a survivor being 20 meters from hooked survivor or not since it's so frustating leaving a gen to run all they way to survivor to see someone else have done the same thing.
We need more killer buffs and solo survivor buffs.

Basically this. While these changes were great they also came in after a while of them being an issue. The live build is what I'm worried about. Are we gonna have another 4.5.0 situation again?

If the chapter launches in a stable state then BHVR will have my love back completely. A bit of a shame we didn't get a map for this chapter because I LOVE its aesthetics!

Not much..
1) The UI is still a mess but it's a little better than the disaster it was.
2) The survivor is just another skin with more useless perks.
3) Still waiting on Open Handeds buff
4) PTB performance is a laggy mess and you can't move at the start of the match 90% of the time.
5) PTB littered with bugs as usually.
6) New killer is just a bunch of old killer features combined with Hacking Ghostface knife throw speed.
7) After the fallout they immediately went to try and sell us more skins.
8) Hit validation still isn't working properly
9) The "Chat Filter" is censoring normal everyday words.
The list goes on.. so for me they're still a long ways away from redeeming themselves.

It's not quite that simple, though - it still needs to look reasonable and ideally wouldn't give an advantage to non-colorblind players either. It takes mobile developers years to put something as simple as a dark theme into their apps when there are already template dark themes available on Android (and I assume iOS). Some of that is prioritization, but still, it's consistent enough that it clearly requires a decent work effort.
