Console Input
Question: Is the heal button the same as the throw the pallet down button for console players? I've had console players throw the pallet down on top of me instead of healing at least half a dozen times in recent memory. Should I not crawl to a pallet when in games with console survivors, or did I just encounter an unlucky streak of mouth breathers?

Yeah, pretty much every action (vault, throw pallet, heal, repair, get in/out of locker) is tied to the same button.

Yh on console almost everything has the same button. And the game has a weird priority, too. When a slugged person crawls under the hook, i cant rescue from this side.

Default settings have actions (pallet/vault/locker) and interactions (healing/gen/unhook/totem/etc.) set as same button. You need to manually change them but most don't.

Yes, although you can change them to be separate.

I've just check but the only action you can change seperate are use/drop/pickup item.
Can pc change their action seperately?

it really should be different from the get go...

Agreed. I know so many don't change it because they're so used to the buttons being the same.

Actually its more related to the number of buttons and the layout of controller to be able to still be functional. For example if i try to bind it to a face button instead of a trigger i cant look around while doing that action

you clearly never seen someone playing dante in DMC 4... the claw hands are a thing...
but on a more general note, it's quite easy to press square and look around... a lot of games that use the face buttons have cameras that we need to control... it's normal.

For interactions (gens, healing, totems) I have mine set to a trigger while actions (locker, vault, pallet) that are just a quick button press I have as face button since I'm not likely to be swinging the camera around during that second.

Its true, and that sucks, considering that there are a ton of buttons on the controller they could use. Ive seen people self care under pallets and die instead of throwing them.

Yep, it's a really bad default control setup.

Yeah, I have to pause and make sure the prompt says heal before I start. So I might look like I'm just walking on top of you for a second but I'm just making sure I don't vault the window you're next to or drop the pallet you're under lol
