Starting Over On A Different Platform/Console

Given all of the issues that I've been having playing DbD on my Xbox One, I've been thinking of changing over to a PS5 system or potentially playing DbD on my gaming PC. I have to admit that I would hate to get rid of all of the progress that I've made on my Xbox.

For context, I've played DbD for 730 hours since I started last June. I have pretty much of the Killers unlocked and leveled up to 50, as well as all of the key perks unlocked for both Killer and Survivor.

For anyone who has started over, what's been your experience? Was it easier leveling up a second time?

Also, any tips for making the switch from playing on console with a controller to using mouse and keyboard on PC?
