Rank 1 Five Game Sample of New MMR
Hey everyone. I'm Gatsby and I play at Rank 1 on Survivor. I decided to test the new MMR by keeping track of my first five games on the new matchmaking.
Game 1 - Four Escaped. Mother's Dwelling. Killer and one of the Survivors were drastically lower skill.
Game 2 - Three Escaped. Dead Dawg Saloon. All Red Ranks aside from one Survivor, who was killed.
Game 3 - Four Escaped. Father Campbell's Chapel. Killer was lower skill.
Game 4 - Four Killed. Ormond. Ranks were well matched.
Game 5 - Three Escaped. Dead Dawg. One Survivor was lower skill (and camped). Killer was doing an Adept.
Conclusions- The matchmaking seems to be just missing the mark. Almost every game was close to being balanced with one to two players being out of place. It's a common thread throughout all the games, so it seems like the MMR is purposely adding in weak players to high lobbies, not sure why.

Honestly, that looks leaps and bounds better than anything I've gotten in the last year. And that's with the MMR system still learning.
You also have to realize that Rank is meaningless. You may have a Rank 1 survivor in your game that plays almost exclusively with a SWF rank 1 team but has been carried by his teammates.
Or you could get a green solo survivor thats amazing but is getting screwed because of his other green teammates.
Plus, lets face it, the Emblem system is arbitrary. It has no meaning on skill.

@Munqaxus The point of this experiment was to see how the MMR is doing while Ranks still have meaning. Since it hasn't been in effect long enough to influence them.
I agree that the current rank system is flawed, but its the only way to compare the new MMR to the old system. And you'll notice that the low ranks DO tend to do worse based on this sample despite how arbitrary the rank system may be

The best way is to use the 2 Kills, 2 Escapes. It's simple and it's what everyone strives for. The Emblem system has been a mistake from the beginning. Using it to judge a MMR is a big mistake.

They're adding in lower ranked players to high ranked lobbies because high ranked players don't want to play an empty lobby simulator.
So lower ranked newer players (and the potential future revenue streams they provide) are sacrificed so high ranked players can have quick, easy matches with short wait times vs inexperienced players.
To the detriment of the health, well being and future of our -own- game of cause.

I've been getting mostly Brown Ranks as killer. Played a Huntress game, and it was expected cause I'm a garbage Huntress. PLayed a Doctor game, and it wasn't expected because I'm a semi-decent Doctor. I mean the survivors probably ended up with a decent game, cause one guy DC'd and I just farmed with them. Maybe I'm just really bad with Killer. Or maybe my mercy has lowered my MMR too much.

That was a recurring theme during the first MMR test. Most players in the lobby would be matched fine and then one or two players would be wildly out of place.

I dunno the bps show quick games, Escaping and just hitting 20k bp is worrying considering the 5k escape bonus and the extra 1.5k escape as obsession not to mention the 3-4 escapes.. shows survivor is easy but it was only a few tests, sadly I cant play to try myself

To be fair, the last one should be ignored for it was an adept Legion attempt and his perks are not that great for them except Discordance, also lol at Spirit with NOED+Stridor and 0K.
