Playing killer in this game is so frustrating
So I'm playing this game with my group of friends and none of us can stand playing killer. Almost every mechanic in this game is designed to be extremely, ridiculously annoying as the killer. Even though the concept is nice, we have to stop now cause no one wants to play killer, and online it's pretty much just a free win.
- The innability to turn your head around because you're stuck in an animation (vaulting, grabbing, ...) is so toxic and anti-fun
- Vaulting speed is ridiculously slow
- If you chase someone for more than 10 seconds, you basically lose the game guaranteed.
- There are waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too many pallets everywhere in virtually all choke points.
- The SMALLEST mistake (walking into an obstacle) and the whole chase is done.
- If survivors are just a liiiiitle bit lucky and find the generators fast, game over even with perfect play.
- Almost every room in the game has an escape vault, making it almost impossible for survivors to make a pathing mistake under pressure.
- It's basically pointless to play smart and find good hiding spots - you can most likely out-run the killer anyway.
- Decisive strike talent is ridiculous. You hook your opponent, someone saves him, and you kill him again (assuming he doesn't run the other ridiculously annoying immunity talent) ,,, but you basically just have to sit there and wait (which guarantees a loss) OR you leave and the survivoir basically gets out for free.
- Even IF you manage to kill 3 of them, the hatch opens up for the last survivor ............ like really ???
On average, a ''good'' game for the killer consists in killing 2 survivors. Killing 3 is ''great''. Killing 4 is a mirable, unless they're absolute trash or EXTREMELY unlucky at finding the generators.
Honestly, the core of this game is so much and has so much potential, but how they manage to screw up balancing THAT much is beyond me.

Yep, as killer if you don't use a good killer with good perks and addons you are likely to fail.
Probably the reason I gave up going for the 4K and just started playing for fun, I don't care anymore if I rank up/down, it's made the game bearable for me and because of that less stress.
Game balance would be very hard for a game like this, yes you could balance on terms of the top% or SWF but in doing so you screw up solo queue. On the opposite side if you balance for solo queue, SWF can exploit those advantages + more etc.

Killers run faster and/or have special powers like teleporting. blinking, etc
Killers can completely stop gens with perks. They also have gen control through perks and their actions to force which gens get done.
Killers vaulting increase the speed the entity blocks windows; even without vault perks.
If a killer misses an attack - advantage survivor.
Killers can just as easily spawn close to survivors; it's called RNG.
Learning pathing can easily shut down loops as can abilities and perks.
Don't want to have DS used against you - don't tunnel.
Pay attention to map offerings and the map - you have just as much chance as finding the hatch as a survivor.
I say all this as a killer main. And this idea that you have to get a 4k is silly to say the least. Even at red/purple ranks killers can safety or pip with 2-3k as long as they are chasing, breaking stuff, and using their powers.

Playing Killer is not that frustrating if you are at least somewhat good at it.
To your points:
- "The innability to turn your head around because you're stuck in an animation (vaulting, grabbing, ...) is so toxic and anti-fun"
So, now animations are toxic too? sigh
- "Vaulting speed is ridiculously slow"
Vaulting Speed is fine. If you want faster Vaulting Speed, you can run Bamboozle. Vaulting Speed used to be a lot slower. You know, during a time where Killer was actually difficult to play.
- "If you chase someone for more than 10 seconds, you basically lose the game guaranteed."
Incorrect. I have the feeling that players always over- and underestimate the time they spend in Chases. Survivors tend to think that their chases are longer than they actually are, while Killers think the opposite. But from my experience, even a longer chase will not lose you the game
- "There are waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too many pallets everywhere in virtually all choke points."
Most Maps dont have that many Pallets. The only Maps which have a huge amount of Pallets are those, were the Pallets are unsafe. And those can be played by the Killer. If you are breaking every Pallet you come across, you will lose, because some Pallets dont need to be broken in the chase.
(Note: An exception is The Game, but I guess this is to compensate for Deadends. But it would be nice to have a reduction of Pallets here, and a removal of Breakable Walls to remove the Deadends)
- "The SMALLEST mistake (walking into an obstacle) and the whole chase is done."
No, clearly not. And, to be honest, getting stuck is a pretty dumb mistake and it is ok to be punished for it.
- "It's basically pointless to play smart and find good hiding spots - you can most likely out-run the killer anyway."
Stealth got nerfed over time. You have better Tracking abilities, e.g. Plague can make Survivors audible unless they cleanse, Oni has Bloodorbs which give away Survivors locations. Killer Instinct got added which removes the ability to hide in Lockers. Those are just some examples, but Stealth got less and less attractive. And this is fine by me, I dont like Survivors who hide, Chases are more fun than hide-and-seek.
- "Decisive strike talent is ridiculous. You hook your opponent, someone saves him, and you kill him again (assuming he doesn't run the other ridiculously annoying immunity talent) ,,, but you basically just have to sit there and wait (which guarantees a loss) OR you leave and the survivoir basically gets out for free."
DS will get nerfed, most likely in a few days already (with the release of Chapter 19).
- "Even IF you manage to kill 3 of them, the hatch opens up for the last survivor ............ like really ???"
If you killed 3 Survivors before all Gens were done, you won the game in my opinion. A 4K is not the only way to call a game a "win". If I finish the game as Killer with 3 Survivors dead and 4 Gens to go, I dont care if the last guy gets the Hatch, they got lucky that they found it, but they did not win, I won.
Those aspects might not apply to Top 1% Survivor-SWFs, but those are very rare. I am pretty sure that most players did not have to go against one of those teams at all. If I remember, I had exactly one instance where I went against tournament Survivors. Most Survivors are pretty bad.
And, last but not least:
"Honestly, the core of this game is so much and has so much potential, but how they manage to screw up balancing THAT much is beyond me."
Both sides should have the chance to win. I dont know what you understand as "core of this game", DBD is pretty balanced at the moment. IMO it is a little bit too easy to play Killer currently, it is still harder than Survivor, but sometimes I can win without even trying.
In the end, this is a Multiplayer Game, not a Slaughter-Simulator, so Survivors should also be able to win.

Truth is "Dead by Daylight" isn't a very good game.
Brilliant concept, amazing potential, but there's a total disconnect between the experience envisioned and the product that exists today. And seemingly, little or no desire or ambition to actually fix the core issues or realize that potential. It's mostly about maintaining course and DLC injections.
There's a serious gap with the game's intended atmosphere/aesthetics from the actual gameplay experience manifested to the extent you're not really stalking and hunting like some iconic movie monster, you're playing defense against a bunch of tweens trying to vandalize your generators.

Over all I agree with you except with the Pallet part. Gideon, Ormond etc. have insanely safe pallets. Gideon for example can have more than 30 pallets and a lot of them are god pallets. If you face good survivors Ormond and Gideon are unwinnable. The only time I won on gideon was because I played Phead (my main) and I think he is pretty good at punishing players for bad looping. There are also some Autohaven Wreckers maps that are way to safe. Groaning Storehouse has bad pallets in my opinion but has an insane loop which is absolutely busted. So I understand when people are complaining about pallets/ bad map design.

Try solo survivor and come at me. That's the real struggle bus.
