Camping and altruism

So out of all the camping accusations, how many are caused by altruism? If a killer can see another survivor waiting to come in or running in circles trying start a chase, why would the killer leave? Same for bbq chilli, OoO ect.... If survivors put themselves on lockdown it almost forces the camp at which point isn't it the survivors fault?

Was thinking about this while doing gens and watching the hook trade with Kindred

I understand this happens, I have seen some silly ######### with kindred as well.

But the other side is also true, How much silly altruism is caused by camping. We all know, do gens and camping doesn't win. But it is a team game and it is hard to just sit and watch someone die on first hook because of camping. I am sure that is why we see it so often, it gets reinforced. However if it is early game is is hard not to try and help a teammate have a better game experience. It is the main reason I am seriously considering running Deliverance.

As for me personally. I don't camp, I understand this sometimes will cost me a game. But I am very rarely near a hook during a save and I am not a return to the hook killer. I know at some point, it only makes sense to return to the hook, as it's been 45 seconds and you know someone is coming for the save. But it is just not my style anymore. I have certainly done it in the past, especially in my first year of DBD.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens a lot. Dumby Survivors will get into a chase ten meters around their hooked teammate, not even allow the Killer a chance to find someone else. There are plenty of ways Survivor players induce boring tactics (i.e., tunneling, camping) that the Killer wouldn't even think to do. Not to say there aren't Killer players who do those just because, but that there's variation.
