Why do I have a 22 hour ban?
I just logged onto Dead by Daylight for the first time in a couple days and jumped in a match.
In this one match, the killer downed one other guy and myself and proceeded to camp him on the hook and leave me on the ground refusing to hook me. He also decided to not look for any other teammates and just camp us till we either died on hook or bled out. On top of this neither remaining teammate even tried to get a save so out of frustration the first guy getting camped dc'd right before he died and I also decided to DC after he dc'd since the match was just a waste of time.
Yeah yeah, you can hit me with the "you shouldn't have dc'd" but how is it that I get a 22 hour matchmaking lock from the one DC? It doesn't make sense that one DC would ban me for nearly a whole day, especially after I left because the way the killer was playing prevented me and another player from enjoying the game how it's meant to be played.
And let me reiterate, this was my first time on in multiple days.

If you've DCed previously, the penalty adds up.

No one knows exactly how the disconnecting system works (or atleast from what I'm aware) so it could be because you disconnected alot a few days ago?

I understand that but I do not DC often? Most games I just stick through the end so I was surprised to be hit with a 22 hour out of nowhere?
The most I recall ever getting banned for was 30 minutes after someone in my SWF DC'd. Which gave us all a penalty.

From what i understanded you need to play an X amount of matches to the dc penalities reduce, if you have this ######### game of being camped just open youtube and wait the match end
so if you only play once an month an dc 1 of 3 matches the dc penalitys will stack up

I'm going to use that YouTube tip next time.

That is a long DC penalty, sorry that happened to you.
Best thing to do in this situation is crawl as far from the hook as possible so the killer can't camp both. It sucks but sometimes you just have to play a mobile game while you wait to bleed out.

Thanks for understanding. I guess in situations like these you're right. We have to do at least something like crawl or just stop focusing on the game until it's over.

Try restarting your game? Not sure what happened unless you had a built up penalty. But it doesn't sound like it.
My cousin DC'ed in a match because the killer kept downing her, then carrying her around without hooking her and it just kept going. She got a 5 minute penalty. Then when I queued up with her, it said the matchmaking penalty was an hour! She didn't see it on her screen, but it wouldn't let me queue up for some reason. If she wasn't in the lobby, I could queue up no problem. Then she reset her game, and we were able to queue up instantly.

normally id say "you don't get such a long ban unless you DC often" but if what you say is true. I don't understand how you got such a long ban if you haven't dced in many days. Maybe the game requires you to play X amount of matches for the DC multiplier to go away?

DCing hurts your team. Sorry but don't DC so much. It takes time for it to decay. If you're that high, you was already on a long DC penalty before that. Stop DCing.

You should be able to dc if you want without consequences .

Sorry one more thing, Killers cried cause they couldn't adept so they started pentalizing survivors for killers sucking. If your tunneled dc. camp me dc. If they ban me forget it I am not going to reward killers for cheating.

you've DCed previously the penalty adds up.

You were probably banned for not crawling away from the hook that the killer was camping. Bad play bans are the most strict.

22 hours also is such a strange random number.
Almost as if the DC penalty hit you multiple times of the 1 DC.
Could also be that every time you DC'd prior to this you didn't actually play to see how high your penalty went.

I don't care I think a killer face camping the survivor on the hook should have the23 hour ban
0 -
Yeah.
They really need to do something about those cheaters that play the game without even breaking the ToS!
I wonder why they can't/don't...

Again the same point I have reiterated over n over. How long did it take dbd to nerf one hook ebony mori 2years after they messed over tool boxes 180 chargers to 32
0 -
No toolbox - hell, no item - in DbD has ever had 180 charges.
4 -
Yes with add ons it was two n a half gens to quarter of a gen.Killers everyday why u gen rushing and I would a gain why are you moring people. Everyday for months. Then one day devs gotta tired of crying killers and gave the babies there way. For years not months ebony one hook moris exsisted. And years from now there to say that never happened. Just like you

32 charges is almost half a gen to begin with (40%, to be precise), because gens require 80 charges. 180 charges would be two and a quarter gens.
PS: I'm a survivor main who's played the game since launch.
3 -
It was two n a half gens .

But cry babies couldn't handle 4 people tool boxes and prove thyself it was fun and fair.

My tool boxes went from two n half gens to a quarter gen

Worthless.

Hey I'm not too sure what happened but after getting the 22 hour matchmaking lock I left my house for 2 hours. I just got back maybe an hour ago and decided to boot it up again and it seems my matchmaking lock is gone. I did restart the game and it seemed to do the trick.
Thank you to everyone else for your input. Like I said before I was shocked because I haven't played (before today) in perhaps 4 or 5 days and even before then I don't DC often.
Maybe mine was a visual bug.
