Complaints regarding The Trickster...

People keep complaining he's weak, but frankly I like it when the newest killer isn't OP or strong.

Imagine the match ups against him being new AND being strong since release.

It would've been a nightmare.

This game should focus on preventing power creeps and the Trickster is exactly that.

All he needs is more fair balancing and he'll be A o-KAY.

While we're here, let's balance Spirit and Freddy too and also, OP survivor perks like Unbreakable and Dead Hard.

If strong killers were to be equally balanced, to the point where the Trickster didn't look so bad everything would be good.

    Same with survivor perks.

Of course, the downside would be that people won't buy him until that happens.

Most people want to buy strong & fun killers anyway that make them feel good when playing. Not some mediocre, average killer.

But I think it's better for the health of the game.

He is fun, like my main. Sometimes we don't need another Mike or Doc level killer.

If killers were balanced down to him I wouldn't play the game. Most people wouldn't play the game. This game would die.

Well either it's to bring all the weak ones strong or bring the strong ones down to weak. You can't have both.

That will be the same for survivors too.

Frankly, I would prefer a game where it's not OP killers vs OP survivors all the time.

Balance is key for a competitive game like this and making the Trickster strong would've only brought nerfs in the end.

    Just like Decisive Strike.

I love him, I hope he never leaves. I love watching him prance around while I'm completing a gen and with his banana colored shirt he is so easy to notice.

There is nothing wrong with unbreakable and dead hard though, and waiting forever for a killer to get buffed from a pathetically weak point is also stupid.

  • Kolossoni
    Kolossoni Member Posts: 371

Every point you made is the total opposite of what I was saying.

Unbreakable and Dead hard are a problem. And this is coming from a survivor main.

It's found in nearly every survivor at higher ranks and it shows why.

It's a MUST just like BBQ, NOED and Ruin for killers.

I NEVER use DH or Unbreakable not even once. It's not because I don't have them, it's because I want to find my own style of playing instead of relying on OP perks. Never used DS either so there's that.

Abuse is infamous in DBD and abusive perks need to be looked at. DS was a great start and now the other two needs to be balanced too. Same goes for all the abusive killer perks.

If you are willing to not see the blatant truth of the situation, then there's nothing more I can say.

    This is so true.

DBD is already too "Killer Sided" VS "Survivor Sided" as it is.

What we really need is smth that would put us together, not separate us and make each other blame one another anymore.

    1. That was the point of my post

    2. Those 2 perks aren't a problem, they just are strong compared to the rest of the trash perk selection this game has to offer. The game has pigeon holed playstyles and perk selections for both sides.

    3. Not many decent tracking alternatives to BBQ. Noed is trash and unhealthy for the game, should be deleted. Ruin isn't a must and also why tf was pop nerfed?

    4. While there are other good perks available there's no real reason to ignore the better ones to feel special

I spent money on him simply for the survivor and his perks. I played 2 games with him and hooked one! I’m sticking with my spirit.

Okay, Imma be more clear regarding Unbreakable and DH.

They make other perks look like trash because they are the strongest perks right now. DS used to be part of the trio but after being nerfed, it's no longer part of it.

Look how many killers were happy that the stupid perk was no longer viable/abusable. It's not about how strong a perk is, it's more towards how abusable it is.

DS was clearly not meant to be used the way it was used for a LONG time now.

Unbreakable & DH are both second life chance perks that are being abused to the core right now. Survivors mock, BM and even humiliate killers for not being able to play around them and it's not healthy for the game.

You also mentioned NOED and other killer perks that bring the same result.

My point is if we don't pinpoint where the unhealthy perks lie in the game regardless of roles, we'll never make the game a healthy environment.

But rest of the points you made, I agree.

Trickster isn't even average/mediocre.He's just bad.Like really really bad.

    I get it.

Not every killer has to be Nurse and Spirit tier but they have to be decent so people actually want to play.

Having multiple strong killers is a good thing because that means that there are more different kinds of killers you play against.

Nothing is more boring than having to play against the same thing over and over again.

"Having multiple strong killers is a good thing because that means that there are more different kinds of killers you play against. Nothing is more boring than having to play against the same thing over and over again."

No no no. Don't say that. It should be the opposite!

The more strong killers there are the more common they'll be!

Like with strong perks, they'll dominate the game with the presence and that's not good!

If you want all killers to be strong then all the survivors will have to be strong too, and that's absolutely a big NO NO!

We should be making everyone less strong overall so that weaker ones don't get to be seen so weak!

  • Kolossoni
    Kolossoni Member Posts: 371

Yeah, but that's promoting power creep.

That's like saying, since many of the survivor perks were not as strong as DH, Unbreakable and DS, let's buff all of them to make them viable as much.

The reason why devs nerfed DS was because they wanted to LOWER the power granted by the perk. If it was the opposite and that they buffed everything else, you'd be playing a different tune.

  • OldHunterLight

Ok but the point of 4.4 110% is that they are strong, not hot garbage like trickster.

  • Kolossoni
    Kolossoni Member Posts: 371

Of course he needs decent balancing.

But the point of the thread was that we should be thankful that he's weak first rather than the opposite.

If he was strong since release, all hell would've broken loose.

    Not at all.

Like i said, not every killer has to be Nurse and Spirit tier, but rhey have to be somewhat strong/decent.

Same thing for the perks, they don't have to be super strong META perks, but they should be decent.

The devs nerfed DS,because it was originally meant to a defensive perk to protect yourself. However,a LOT of survivors continued to use this perk in a very aggressive way (e.g unhooking or doing gens in your face) so the devs toned that down

We're not asking for him to be op, we're asking for him to not be ######### abysmal.

  • OldHunterLight
    OldHunterLight Member Posts: 3,001

Which from the experiences that we have playing this game is worse than a killer being strong.

We are not asking him to be nurse level, we are asking him to be at least demo level.

This killer shouldn't have been a 110% with this current power.

  • LastShoe
    LastShoe Member Posts: 1,183

"The more strong killers there are the more common they'll be!"

So you are saying that if all killers would be equally strong, then you will face even more often spirits and freddies?

Also, unbreakable (after ds + unbreakable combo is not so dominant) and dead hard are not too powerful, the reason why they feel like it and are used most of the time is because most of the perks are as powerful as left behind. They have too small of effect considering how situational they are.

Unbreakable is powerful situational perk, just as adrenaline and they are pretty good.

Dead hard is decent, but not as powerful, but also there is no situation where you will tell to yourself, yeah, this perk did nothing.

Also, if clown is F tier, the trickster is one tier below... He is m1 110% killer

Seriously when I was playing Trickster I at times thought how much better my chases could have been if I was playing someone like Clown or Doctor, but instead I'm stuck playing a pretty boy who spams knives at you as well as being horrendously slow.

I haven't tried all his add on combinations yet but I think slowing the laceration decay would make things better.

There are moments where it's better to just go for a basic hit than finish them off with blades.

  • Firellius
    Firellius Member Posts: 4,387

That's definitely a you problem because all the tricksters I went up against had little difficulty. Some even used that power so well that they couldn't be taken for a chase because any moment of LoS would immediately net someone 2 or 3 blades.

Loads of people are up in arms over this killer. He's new. Give it time.

    Preventing power creeps?

This killer suffers from power creep despite being the newest killer lmao

There is literally no reason to play him over Huntress/Slinger when it comes to effectiveness.

His asthetic was going to divide the killer community and now that this divisive killer is very weak and poorly made, it will divide the playerbase even more. The only people that seem to like Trickster are mostly kpop twitter fans. I haven't brought him yet, worked too late last night, but Im thinking I'll be a bit daft to spend 9000 shards on something that has been slated as badly as he has
