Yet Another Trickster Post but Logical
So we all know the basic complaints about Trickster by now so I’ll spare you the details. Summed up, unless you’re in a complete pallet and loop dead zone his power just simply isn’t very rewarding.
Now, the logic. People compare him to Huntress but I actually see him more similar to a way worse plague. He has a meter to get somebody injured except, unlike plague, this meter just goes down instead of increasing. How does this make sense for balance when plague is 4.6 and has WAY more potential for quick chases. Everybody knows that if a good plague is right on your ankles that she will simply puke on you for 3-4 seconds straight and down you with her M1 immediately thanks to her 4.6 speed. Not only this but her power allows you to simply quickly puke on somebody and leave knowing that they either cleanse and make your power even stronger or they get sick, making them injured and possibly spreading this to other survivors.
With this in mind, why would anybody choose Trickster over plague when her power is so much better, and also much more rewarding in chase. Not to mention on top of her superior power, she’s 4.6 movement speed.
Now listen, as somebody who plays about 50/50 killer survivor I understand not wanting to make another powerful 4.4 killer. Let’s be honest, unless you’re a masochist nobody likes going against most 4.4 killers simply bc nearly every single one of their powers is so oppressive. The reason these powers are so oppressive is that they ALL make up for their poor mobility (besides spirit who has add-ons that make her walking speed much faster).
Overall, if you’re looking to actually just win the game and not count on survivors being total meme lords and throwing, very few players will choose to play Trickster. The reason I’m making this post is because I genuinely love the game and I think Trickster has a ton of potential. I don’t think every killer needs to be a top tier killer, bc god forbid we have a million different variations of spirit running around but this just isn’t a very rewarding killer power. At many loops his power is just hindering you rather than rewarding you, making you a 4.4, M1 killer. I look forward to Trickster becoming a killer who’s really rewarding to use but currently that’s just not the case.
