Honest question
I had a few days break of DBD and came back. Wanted to play some nice games at low rank but against faced a tryhard SWF who just ruined my day. Afterwards I went in angry mode and changed to my slugg huntress, too bad that this game I faced true rank 19s who got bullied hard by me.
At the moment I cant really enjoy playing this game anymore, killer is either way too easy against beginners or way to stressfull against experienced survivors.
Playing survivor is just boring for me, the expected adreanline rush isnt there because you dont fear the killer at all, why is this even in the horror game category?
Does anyone believe that this game will ever have a rework? I mean a serious balance rework, puting survivors into 1st person mode for example. During devstream devs told us that 2.0 will bring us mindgame pallets, but I didnt notice that anything has changed on the PTB in that regard
On one hand I still have hope and remember the good old days when DBD was fun, but at the same time I just wanna uninstall and forget about it

Sometimes you just have to know when to let something go, and I'm not telling you to quit, but this game does reasonably burn Killers out, but the devs simply don't seem to care too much.
I don't think anything major like first person will ever be put into this game. If you don't have faith they can balance things in the Roadmap, I would say either wait for Dead by Daylight 2, Deathgarden, or move on to new competition in the future like Last Year and Hide Or Die.

Do I think this game will see any serious rework?
And ruin an addictive simple game that has worked and continues to work to bring home the money? Very doubtful, especially so for the next year.

When it comes down to it, don’t get bothered, don’t continue the cycle of BAD-NESS don’t let their actions rule you. Be the better person

Honestly if the game is no longer fun for you then there is no reason to keep playing it and having a bad time. Games are meant to be a fun, entertaining experience. If asymmetrical horror is your thing i would see what Last Year or Hide or Die has to offer like what weirdkid said. They will be the competitors in the asymmetrical genre and you can bet they are taking notes on DBD and figuring out what works and what does not.

I took a long, healthy 2 month break a while ago, and I absolutely, positively enjoyed it. I played some of my old childhood favorite games, and just some games that I have had in my library for years and only have 5 hours in.
But do you know what I loved even more? Coming back to Dead by Daylight after that incredibly long break. The best part about it was, that it as a planned break. I didn't just say to myself angrily after a day full of bad matches that I was quitting, but came back after a while, I simply realized that the game was in a content drought with absolutely 0 balance patches planned until the 2 year anniversary, so I just decided to wait it out in other games until a week before the PTB, so I could farm up the 1mil bp for the new Killer. It brought me much more joy than all the times I have thought I would quit the game for good just to come back to it the next day, like some druggie trying to cold turkey.
Personally though, I think that you should just play some other game in your library for a few days, then come back soon because the anniversary is sometime this month(rumors say it is exactly 1 week from today). Then if you are not thoroughly impressed in the shop enough to keep farming irridescent shards until the next chapter, then feel free to just take a break and play other games until whenever you feel like you are ready to come back.
The biggest piece of advice I can give you, however, is this - When you come back, make sure you are in a really good mood. You are literally relying on luck in this game's current state that you don't get a 4 man SWF team that destroys your 2 month old, already poor muscle memory on Huntress(that is how I came back, but the next match I was just fine and it was absolute fun).2
