Survivors have zero respect for the killer
And no I don't mean it as a "Wahh they are so mean! they tick the flashlight and teabag!".
I mean they have zero fear, zero worries, you're literally aproaching them wtih the intention of killing them and they won't care. You can approach them while they are doing a gen and they will just laugh it off and keep doing it, specially if they are about to finish it, after all, why would they even worry when they can just use one of the 9999 pallets near them if you hit them or if you hook them someone will just unhook them.
Killers are as scary and threatening in the game as a flower. Hell Survivors will even keep doing gens with no worries even while having deep wounds.

This is why I main Pyramid Head.
He's actually scary and oppressive, especially with stealth perks.

Dbd was never scary and never will be sczry most of players by now posses some skills and they aren't scary cats anymore I think it is how it is
22 -
The scariest thing in this game is a Killer player that is unpredictable.
...other than SWF deathsquads of course

Survivors aren't scared because they aren't in an actually life threatening situation. You aren't some bloodthirsty killer about to kill some helpless survivors, your a regular human being up against 4 other regular human beings in an online multiplayer video game.

That one Steve who I drew smiley faces with using Phead must be pretty mad right now

I get told to kill myself every match I struggle in as a killer. Makes me think about the mentality of survivor players.
13 -
Survivors are the real killers.
11 -
I could care less about respect just stop being a jerk to people we're all good.
Also, you are playing against people, you are not actually some scary killer you are a human playing a game against other humans. So I mean after survivors have been playing for a bit nothing is going to scare them anymore really, it's just about the match itself and the versus of it.
There is no way around that, you just need to acknowledge it.

Why would they stop working on a nearly completed gen? Either way you're going to hit them. If they don't finish the gen not only will you have hit/downed/hooked them, you'd be able to set back their progress.
And you're complaining they can get unhooked...?
You might want to stick to single player games.

Depend on the killer.
1 -
Against your average team I agree but his entire being is hardcore countered by pre-dropping pallets and holding W and it's really sad.
2 -
Mentality of DBD players in general. I played a single game of solo survivor and was singled out by the killer who said, and I quote, "You and your SWF buddies should kill yourselves."
He was going for adept Oni.
Again, I was solo, my friends list was public, he could easily check.
Don't make it a side war because both sides have people with issues.

What's with this uptick in people going on about how Survivor players aren't scared or have respect for the Killer player on the basis that they're playing the Killer? When I go against Survivors, I'm not thinking "Oh man, these people better be quaking in their boots when I show up!" I'm thinking more on what tactics they'll be using to outdo me and how I can get the one-up on them. This game is about the wavering power dynamics of four ostensibly "weak" roles against one "strong" role (scare quotes because there is no power role to this game).

that's what happens when you add kpop to the game
2 -
There's literally nothing to be scared of outside your first 20 hours or so. It's a video game, and not a particularly scary one.
3 -
I am way more scared of the survivor player who DC's or suicides on the hook for no reason than the killer. This has been happening so much more than it ever has which makes the game unplayable for the most part.
3 -
It's almost like after a while you get desensitized to things...
4 -
It's because this is real life. There is no reason to be afraid of killers after you play for a long time. You are not scary because you are not the actual killer, you're just a person playing a video game so they have no reason to be afraid of you.

Jump scares will always make you jump, that's still a bit scary. There are no uber dark maps with little no vision, no close quarter maps, killers have a terror radius also. Game could be a little scarier, maybe more tense instead of fear.

I’m sorry, but it’s just commitment.
If I’m about to finish a gen in three seconds and the Killer is approaching, I don’t mind sacrificing a hook state to get it done.
Nothing against the Killer at all.
It’s just me and the stubbornness that can get me killed sometimes.
2 -
And I get told the same by killers when I decide to play survivor. What's your point?
2 -
It's literally just a game to survivors. Like you're actually just a person playing a game, you have no actual power over anyone lol why would they be scared? They're gonna play just like you are. The way to make them "scared" in game is to apply as much pressure as possible. If you can't do that in the game then just try and get better. Most times survivors don't feel threatened it's because you're a weaker killer (like trickster or legion) or you haven't really given them a reason to be scared all game. Maybe baby survivors will be scared, but there's really no reason to be scared and you don't need to scare them to kill them. Just play the game and get over this weird power role fantasy you got going on

Yep its true, even with a ghostface that is devour hoping everyone they just t-bag, clicky clicky with flashlight etc. But well atleast if you are playing with a top tier killer you can give them what they deserve 😜
But it also have to do with the fact that this is a game not real life and if you played it for thousand of hours you wont even blink when the killer is coming. So they do all that stuff to not getting bored after playing over and over the same game.
Still there are some stealth killers that can give you a little jumpscare in some maps, and thats immersive.

Respect is earned, not given.
If you don't pose a major threat, why should I be scared?
If you are slaughtering me and my allies, producing massive amounts of pressure, hell yeah I'm playing the game differently.
2 -
The real killers are the friends we made along the way.
1 -
Respect isn't a given; it must be earned. If you enter a game and find the Survivors don't respect you, it is your honor to teach them the error of their ways. My favorite Survivor pull is a Bully Squad. These guys do not respect Killers at all. They come into the game with one win condition, i.e. to make the Killer quit. Pulling one is like my birthday and Samuin all rolled into one. I get to teach them the meaning of the word respect.
If you don't have the chops yet to instill respect, use your matches to cut your teeth and get where you need to be.

I mean, its just a game. Now this is coming from someone who plays both killer and survivor (and I've been playing killer more lately). When survivors know they can juke you and outplay you and mind game you pretty easily while busting gens like their's no tomorrow, then they aren't going to be scared. After all, we're just humans playing the role of a frictional killer. There is nothing to be scared off. Its not the killer, its the person playing the killer. I experience this a lot with red rank swf's. Instead of expecting survivors to fear you, outplay them, outsmart them, and beat them at their game to annoy them and make them DC like the champs they are. But sadly, this is easier said then done. But it takes lots of practice to do this, and I haven't gotten there just yet.

since when is it disrespectful to finish a generator in front of a killer's face? lmfao
our objective is to LEAVE, not prance around pallets and feed u downs every 10 seconds.
god i thought i heard it all until this post

This really. I doubt a toxic player playing survivor will stop being toxic just because he/she switched to playing killer. Generally there are only two kinds of people, good ones and bad ones.
2 -
this is so dramatic please
no one is obligated to 'respect' a virtual killer (whatever that is supposed to mean). and those bully squads u talking ab are just insanely coordinated swfs. yall have destroyed the meaning of 'bully squads' and it shows
1 -
That's because there isn't much to worry about since everyone can take 2 hooks before dying. Dbd is scary only for new players, but when you have played a lot, the killers stop being scary. Oftentimes it's just a good strategy to sit on gen and pop it, and then take a hook for it.
1 -
Killers just aren't nearly as threatening as they should be imo. Many games feel like episodes of Scooby-Doo running and jumping through windows lol.
For real though, I think killers should be a bit.more threatening since they are pretty easy to bully
0 -
Can't have killers being scary or powerful because survivors will stop buying cosmetics.
0 -
It's almost as if we're all people playing a game and not an actual big bad guy with a sharp weapon against some folks that will die real life... mindblown.gif

To be fair, it’s just a game. They shouldn’t feel the need to be scared of you. If a generator is close to being finished and a killer is approaching, I’m finishing the generator. Why wouldn’t I? There’s also a challenge in the current archives to finish 2 generators within the killers terror radius, so it’s not like this isn’t a common thing lol.
What it boils down to, is people play this game for different reasons. Some like the thrill of the chase and these are the survivors that’ll stay on the generator and even get hit trying to finish it. There’s also people who are more cautious and prefer staying out of the killers sights. These are the types of survivors who’ll be long gone before you reach that generator.
There’s no real right or wrong way to play this game. As long as people are enjoying theirselves and it isn’t at the expense of others, I don’t see the harm?

And those are the survivors that give killers as easy match. I suggest you thank them

Not me,,,I play solo survivor so when I get lucky and play against a killer and win, I do my part to help others and leave. No reason to do anything toxic or crappy if you happen to win the game fast. I played killer for a few times, it is hard and yes there are toxic survivors who do dumb stuff. I can only guess they are kids or kids in adult bodies.

^killers
(I'll be surprised if very many know who this is...he is slightly before my time as well)

Yeah its a video game, the people who really don't care are the ones who have hundreds or even thousands of hours tell someone to go play any horror game for that many hours and see if they still find the game scary.

Nobody needs to fear the killer in this game. It's not like people are actually being chased by one of them.

Survivors are definitely sore winners from my experience.
They are also extremely salty losers from my experience as well.
As an example just this morning I was fooling around with Clown just doing a "hit 4 intoxicated survivors" ritual I rarely play Clown so he doesn't have any good perks or add ons and I wasn't trying to go for a 4k or anything so they all got away.
Then they told me I was horrible killer and i should go back to playing Fortnite. Which was lost on me because I've never played Fortnite.
When I play survivor win or less it is an absolute rarity for the killer to make a rude comment in the post game chat.

I only mention survivors because that's far more common than a killer sending them. I never get messaged by killers as much as I do survivors.

Rodney!!!!
Anyway, what I'd like to say is that part of the issue is solo q- when I'm playing that, I'm more terrified of what other survivors on my team will do. What happens in solo q is waaaayyyy more terrifying than a Killer. At least I EXPECT them to try and kill me. Not the rando red rank survivor farming me off death hook (felt bad man).
