If RE chapter follows Silent Hill...
Then that would mean BHR will take one major character from the first 3 or more games. If they follow the Stranger Things approach, adding two survivors (one male and one female) and 1 Killer, then it's likely the characters will be:
Chris (from RE1) and Claire (from RE2), then Nemesis from RE3 or some other Killer from another installment like Mr.X, Dimitrescu, Jake Baker,etc.
OR
Jill (from RE1) and Leon (from RE2), and a Killer from another installment.

Yeah, personally I feel it's gonna be Leon, Jill, and Nemesis.

I feel like this could definitely be the case. Especially since MCote made that very specific Claire reference in the livestream. So, I gotta say, I think she's probably one of the survivors. It could be just a reference but seems pretty specific. But, anyways, it's honestly a good strategy for getting as much out of a license as possible so, like you said, I could definitely see them mixing a number of the different games into this. I feel like they're going to mainly stick with the first three games though. Just a feeling though. :)

Honestly, I hope that's what they go with. I think that would be a way to please a LOT of people. Plus, let's be honest, there's going to be a lot of legendary cosmetics and, yes, since I just love RE SO MUCH I'll probably buy them all instantly.

Eh, a DLC with two survivors will be more expensive. And I'm not sure they actually care about the character being iconic, or they would have picked Harry Mason or James instead of Cheryl of all people.
Since they want to ride on RE8 hype, chances are it will be Ethan and Lady Dimitrescu.
Nemesis and Mr X were already done in RE: Resistance and would be literally the same copy and paste character even in powers in DbD which would be outright lazy and embarrassing.
I just hope it's not a female survivor, and Nemesis is overdone. The protagonists of RE have always been Chris and Leon, dunno why people keep pushing Jill who had just one game or Claire of all people who nobody cared about until the remake (And even in the remake Leon tries to save the world while Claire plays babysitter)

Agreed, most likely gonna use the first 3 games. As for the Claire quote, I can definitely see them adding her in with that hint.

Idk, this is the 5th anniversary and I just have that feeling they're gonna do multiple Survivors, especially since RE has a lot of characters.
As for RE8, there's a possibility they'll add Dimitrescu but I don't think they're gonna add Ethan. Ethan is supposed to be Capcom's "faceless" character and playing him in third person would just seem off.
Eh, I just feel they're gonna do one male and one female survivor character, just my intuition calling.

That "x" on the teaser trailer makes me think it will be Mr X rather than Nemesis
